- BamaliciousWinter Haven, Florida218 contributionsMy husbands favorite wine he couldn’t wait for the tasting!!Although the tasting was great my hubs left saying he wished there was more to the tasting. We could be spoiled by other wineries in that area how they treated us. We basically sat in a lobby tasting Caymus which deserves a 5 star because of how good it is !! Also the person doing our tastings had to bounce back and forth to other couples or groups. My hubs loved it and that’s all that mattered ❤️Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 March 2024
- ResinomerInman, South Carolina27 contributionsStay a while…Make a reservation and do an elevated tasting. These people run a huge operation, yet find a way to make your visit feel like you are the only ones there. They have a wide variety of wines ranging from excellent lower cost everyday wines ($30-50/bottle) to select reserves that make you justify the expense of $300-400 a bottle for those special occasions. Customer service and emersion is at a level you rarely see these days. Plan on spending 2 hours. Every minute is worth it!!Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 April 2024

Attentive service, we were given a free tasting when they were running slightly behind. Packaged a case for us well to take back on the plane but can also directly ship.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 30 April 2024
- Dayami R3 contributionsCaymus winery at Suisun , just perfection.!!!We visited this winery in the suisun area and we are very satisfied with the experience. The location and the ambiance are excellent. Paradisiac Gardens and beautiful wines. It's a smaller vineyard, but their setting is absolutely beautiful! The wines are lovely and the staff well trained and good experts in their product. The business is not only to sell wines but to give a prize to your senses that you have to love.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 26 May 2024

He was very informative with the family history and the wine production. Highly recommendVisited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 3 July 2024
- VickDYerevan, Armenia12 contributionsAsk for GaryBeautiful grounds. Good wine. Upon check in the desk was nice until we asked to be switched to inside. The day was too hot for wine outside, plus the barrel room was absolutely gorgeous and the right temperature to enjoy the experience. Unfortunately we had a slight attitude from the front desk, the reason for the 4 star, but they made up by separating us. Gary was our somalier. He is very knowledgeable, cared about our experience, and made sure we had the best experience. Ask for him. Enjoy!!!Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 July 2024
- Linda S180 contributionsFavorite WineryThis was the winery I was most excited to visit and it did not disappoint! Upon entering the grounds you come upon one of the most beautiful winery grounds ever. Entering the doors, you are greeted warmly and become surrounded by elegance. Suddenly you are elevated to a peaceful and calm environment. We had our tastings outdoors. Although the day was very warm, we were covered by shade and very comfortable as you sit at a long table that can hold many people with comfortable chairs. Our wine guide ( sorry cannot remember his name) was very knowledgeable not only about the wines we were tasting but of the area, family, other vineyards, the winery history-well, he knew it all! He later told us how long he had been with them. This was a languid experience. He poured, explained the wine and left us to discuss among us. Unlike so many wineries, we were never felt rushed so they could get to the next sale. After a lifetime of visiting wineries in many states and countries, this was my favorite. Wines tasted were of all price ranges. All wines were excellent. Caymus was easy to get to. There is plenty of parking. You are allowed to wander-check out the barrel room. Restrooms are very clean. Staff were very friendly. This is the winery to visit!Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 17 September 2024
- Brandi AGreenwood, Indiana104 contributionsGorgeous Winery and fantastic experience!!!Wine: Caymus brings out a lot of passion from both lovers and haters. Personally I love it. However, before arriving for our tasting, I’d let the naysayers get into my head a bit. However, all my doubts were quickly erased from the first sip. As always, delicious, bold, jammy and balanced. Ambiance: this place is gorgeous!!!! The barrel room is stunning and brings a “wow” factor. The area we sat for our tasting was beautiful. Sort of like our own secret garden. We enjoyed how secluded, quiet and peaceful it was. Service: Bill was our wine server and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, friendly and personable. He took his time and made us feel like we were the only guests in the place. I can’t recommend Caymus Winery enough!! Just loved it. ❤️❤️❤️Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 October 2024
- Thomas PCharlton, Massachusetts95 contributionsCaymusThrough Napa Vally, the words Caymus are spoken with respect, quality and taste. The experience was 5 out of 5 stars. This is an upper-level wine. I have been to over 100 wineries in my life and tried thousands of wines, this one is one of my favorites. Being a wine connoisseur I get to be around many, this is one of the special wines that doesn't have to be a thousand dollars. This is the perfect place to total enjoyment.Visited October 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 October 2024
- Dan SArlington, Massachusetts5 contributionsTracey was amazing, we felt right at home!Caymus was the first vineyard tasting stop on our trip to Napa. They set an extremely high bar from a hospitality perspective that paled in comparison to the other wineries we visited. Tracey took excellent care of us, was super warm, welcoming, and engaging when talking about the vineyard’s history and making sure we had a fantastic time there. What’s better than someone saying “Can I get you a blanket?” As you sit down? Their new tasting room opened within the last year and is gorgeous! We felt like we were in someone’s living room, we didn’t want to leave! Pro tip: their wine shipping is super reasonable, and I wish I bought more bottles!Visited December 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 8 December 2024

Great experience! Wonderful wine tasting experience. The place is beautiful and the tasting area is comfortable. The wine tasting has been the best one that we had in the Napa area, our host was a story teller for each wine we tried making our experience unique.
No pressure, no rush, just time to enjoy excellent quality wines with our knowledgable host Steve.
Shout out to Steve, our host!
What a treat! I definitely recommend this winery and it is on my list for our next visit to Napa Valley.

I love Caymus wines. Doing a Caymus tasting was a no brainer during my trip to Napa. Unfortunately, they were sold out when I first looked, however, after a quick call they managed to find a spot thanks to a late cancelation. So happy they could fit me in, however, I still had high expectations. Those expectations, well, were met+!
You're greeted with a very nice kept sake glass, a bottle of Fiji water, and the list of wines you'll be tasting. It is almost a private tasting as you get seated in your own section of a larger room and provided a tasting guide who basically only oversees a table or two. You'll get your money's worth on the tasting straight-up, especially with a sample of reserve on the list, but why not convert that tasting cash directly into a bottle (or two). That right there is a win-win in my book.

What made the visit to Caymus so special is that they have something to offer at every price point and they also waive the tasting fee if you purchase an equivalent amount of wine. My group went to 6 very high end vineyards over 3 days and purchased very expensive great wines along the way. However, at Caymus we were able to purchase cases for everyday consumption because of the high quality and reasonable cost.
When visiting Napa with freinds, you sometimes get caught up in the moment and when you return home thousands of dollars lighter and the expensive wines start arriving at your home, it's hard to justify consuming $100 bottles every day so you save it for a special occasion". Caymus, however, is smart by offering excellent wines that you can consume every day , like their Conundrum line. The Caymus Cabs. and blends are excellent and reasonably priced compared to similar winery offerings. Great value to top wine!

We enjoy Caymus wine so this stop was a must do for us in Napa. The grounds are beautiful. The tasting was unprofessional. We were seated for almost half an hour before we were poured our first taste. After one hour we had only been poured two tastes and we had to ask our server to speed it up. I will call him a server and not a salesperson because he specifically told us all of the wines we tasted would be available at local liquor stores for a better price and he suggested we only buy enough to cover our tasting fees. His comments about his personal life dominated our experience - literally the first thing he said after introductions was a reference to his second ex-wife. We were genuinely baffled as to how he thought he was being appropriate. We asked him at one point to please pivot the conversation to return to talking about the wine. I would not return.

My wife and I made a quick, safe visit to Napa Valley on April 1 for the sole purpose of visiting Caymus Vineyards for a wine tasting. What a thrill! We are huge fans of all of the Wagner labels and several related labels (Austin Hope, Belle Glos), so this would be a very special trip regardless. Jackie was our wine educator and she took such good care of us in the courtyard. We kept our tasting reservation for 3 PM and (completely relaxed and un-rushed) we didn't leave the gates until a few minutes after 5 PM. Jackie became an instant friend. Right away she detected our level of knowledge for her product and for the Wagner family and she explained things to us in a way that only made us appreciate Caymus Vineyards even more. This is a perfect place for true fans of Caymus. Like many other operations, Caymus Vineyards is undergoing improvements to its structures and it's not entirely clear what the tasting experience will be like post-COVID; however, given the circumstances of everything else happening now, the people at Caymus Vineyards presented their wines elegantly, but not snobbishly. It was simply a fun afternoon for two big fans of the vineyard's flagship label, the Cabernet Sauvignon. We love that there is no undo pressure to join a wine club. Caymus doesn't even have one. Chuck Wagner respects his retailers so much that he actually sells his wine at the vineyard for a few bucks more than we buy it for in Arizona. No problem. We didn't travel to Napa Valley to score a few bucks off on the wine we love. The point of our trip was to connect with the place and put faces to the names, which we did. Caymus Vineyards will be on every one of our future Napa Valley itineraries. Thank you, Jackie, for all the great stories about the Wagners, their wines, Northern California, and baseball. Hope to see you again soon!

Quiet, calm, laid back atmosphere with fantastic wine. They play laid back music, while you sit amongst the shaded garden, tasting their wines. Best experience of our week in Napa.
My wife and I stopped in for a morning tasting, that was supposed to be an hour and a half with a few glasses. Thankfully it was not too busy, and our host David was able to spend lots of time with us telling stories about the family, sharing one or two extra glasses, and making a great morning tasting of >2 and a half hours.
You cannot deny this company has grown, and their experience is a well oiled machine, but they do not try to rush you through the experience as if you were at Disney World, like so many of the big commercialized wineries. The family still lives on property and takes great care and pride in the estate and their wines. Furthermore, they still respect a signifiant purchase of their wine, by comping your tasting, unlike some that just want to get as much money out of you as possible. This is one of the best of the larger wineries we visited, and my favorite experience overall. A must go! Please don’t change

We were well looked after from start to finish.
We did the tasting with Steve, who was very attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable.
The family history is quite interesting… fifth generation of excellent work.
We tasted 6 wines. Caymus 2018 was the special one on the list! It costs 225USD for a wine for a special occasion… there is the 2021 vintage for 90USD which is totally worth it. The Pinot noir is really good too and the rose, which we aren't even fond of, surprised us.
I recommend visiting, the space is beautiful!

We visited Caymus vineyards the first week of September of 2023. We entered through a beautiful garden leading us to a vine draped building. Upon entering the building we were struck by its warmth and beauty. It had obviously had a recent redesign, nothing felt old and historic, but very new and curated. Luis welcomed us and began introducing us to Caymus wines. Luis was off-putting at times, but overall did a good job. Caymus wines actually speak for themselves, our favorite wines of the day!

We managed to get an appointment at the last second on our three days of winery visits. We had a group of six and were greeted at the door and treated with good hospitality. Our host was very friendly and knowledgeable. She mentioned that they were constructing a new tasting room so we were in temporary room in the barrel storage area, which was cold. We really like that your tasting fee, $50, is a credit to be used to purchase wine in the shop. The one negative just has to be that, in our opinion, Caymus wines are not that good. Compared to the many other wines we had that week, they did not stand out and were not worth buying. If it was not for using our credits, we would not have purchased any wine. I have been told by a friend that is a wine rep in our area that Caymus used to make high quality wines, but over the years has used their name to mass produce and their wines are very mediocre. However, I know some people who like Caymus wines, so if you are one of those people, you should visit. You might find it a great experience. For our group, we visited so many great places that made incredible wines, that Caymus did not seem to be in the same league.

We visited Caymus as the last stop of the day and what an excellent way to conclude! It's definitely a bigger property, yet the experience was relaxed and intimate.
Our host was perfect. Informative, easy going, friendly and helpful. The wines are excellent, the prices reasonable, and the lack of a wine club creates a different experience more focused on the wine.
One of my favorite wines before we visited, this experience transformed that into a full fledged love of the marque.

Site says reservations recommended. Really want to visit caymus, but I need a few options in my itinerary without reservations to give us flexibility with timing. Will be there mid oct. will we have any issues doing a tasting without a reservation?
Written 28 July 2019
I agree with foodsnob1. If the weather is bad, the tastings are held inside, which limits the number of people they can accommodate. I was so impressed with the wine and the lovely outside setting, that I recommend making a reservation for this winery and being flexible with others.

I will be visiting Napa in middle of March with my wife and my 2 years girl. Can I visit the Vineyard and do the tasting? They accept children?
Written 19 February 2019
Caymus doesn’t do vineyard tours, they only have a tasting area. You sit in a lovely garden and are served 4-5 different wines. You can bring kids there but hopefully they won’t run around too much and bother the other guests

We loved it and could easily spend several hours there. Please make a reservation for a garden tasting ( no extra cost). It’s so relaxing ( we’ve never been at the inside tasting bar and don’t particularly care for those). Enjoy it’s wonderful
