These rides are absolutely thrilling. Kids and adults loved them. We will probably go back, but would like to see the rates more reasonable. Like the Night Splash. Also, the go-carts are fun but the wait is a bit long and the exhaust a bit much on a hot day or night while waiting.

Great water slides, Went there twice, and each time was amazing. The water slides were horrifyingly fun. The lines were long, but it was expected. The laser tag was a bit confusing but the arcade was amaazing.

2015 is the second year my family has purchased season passes and pre-rented cabanas. We drive from the Bay Area, rent a room and make it a family weekend. We have reserved cabanas for six weekends for the 2015 season. (including season passes, we spent over $1200).

I am contacting you to vocalize a complaint regarding two issues. The first is the lengthy delay in receiving ordered items from the cabana menu. While we completely understand how busy the weekends are, waiting almost two hours seems a bit extreme. That being said, when I vocalized to a Supervisor “Stephanie S.” she stated the following: A) service at the cabanas is a courtesy; B) If we wanted faster food service, we should go to the snack bar; C) There are only two servers for 14 cabanas, so lengthy delays are expected; and D) she was the most senior manager at Sunsplash – there was not anyone more senior above her at the facility today for me to talk to.

I have a few issues with the manner in which Stephanie S. provided customer service. The first was her tone and manner. She was extremely disrespectful and did not apologize for the lengthy delay (customer service 101). Second, she corrected me when I told her that cabana service is included in the cabana rental. She stated “it’s a courtesy”, then the servers should tell us that when they come by. They should also tell us that we should expect lengthier wait times than if we went to the snack bar – if it’s a courtesy (again, customer service 101). To stop by the cabana upon arrival, and delivering cabana menu’s does not imply a courtesy, it implies an included service.

I was appalled at how Supervisor Stephanie S. handled my discontent. Again, we understand how busy it is, and lengthy wait times. It takes an enormous amount for me to make a complaint, since my husband and I have been in customer service (and restaurants) for many years in our adult lives. Also, Stephanie S. was NOT the most senior manager at the facility (we inquired with our server), so she lied to me.

We truly enjoy Sunsplash, and our family weekends there. Had Stephanie S. handled our complaint with a little more sensitivity and been more apologetic, you would not be receiving this complaint. However, her handling of this matter made us feel like cancelling the rest of our summer cabanas and going elsewhere.

Sometimes a business has got to admit that they are letting customers down and offer a slight price adjustment to compensate . On our 6/22/11 visit, 2 popular rides...master blaster and the black hole were closed. Master blaster was posted on the door as being closed and no refunds would be allied. We drove 3 hours for dd's birthday so oh well. Entrance inside the waterpark took 45 minutes even though we purchased slide tickets and prepaid cabana rental in advance. There was actually no convenience at all for advance pay...we waited in same long line as everyone else who did not prepay, then we had to wait in another line for cabana...then another line to wait to have bag searched and final wristbands checked...extreme lack of organization. Cabana nice and watermark clean. Time to eat...learned that an attendant does not come by for cabanas...what?? I have never been to any waterpark or resort where food and drink attendants don't cruise by for orders. Ice cream line 20ish minutes to order and then move one line over for another 20ish minutes to actually receive it. Food line shorter...whole process takes maybe 25 minutes total...ha! No separate soda line. Would have used vending machines to settle but the 3 of those had money accepting mechanisms that did not work and no maintenance avail to fix. So plan on at least 2 hours of the day in line keeping the kids fed and watered. Signs posted everywhere...no refunds for this and that. Snack bar out of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, straws and lids...so good luck caring those sodas back to the cabana through the crowd without spilling. Pizza dough was gushy...semi raw and stretchy. Just remember no refunds for anything. Finally made it to a slide line with kids. We chose the revolution...about a 50 minute wait....so hot in line...feet burnt on bottoms when you reach final steps on top in hot sun. Lines amplified due to other unposted slide closures such as black hole and 3/4 of kiddie park-had huge bucket...play structure out of commission. Not much avail for kids less than 48 inches. Training in progress for lifeguards so we had supervisors dodging in and out of our cabanas to hide with the fake drown victim so they can toss it in the water without the lifeguards seeing them. Some privacy....just remember there are no refunds. I wouldn't have even bothered trying because if they had a line for that it would have surely been out the door too. At some point a business needs to admit that they are strained beyond their means...things do happen and offer something as simple as a free round of mini golf or other minuscule token of sympathy. We will never return to Sunsplash waterpark in Roseville again.

First time going as this is our first summer in California. Kids were excited to try it out. Everything was going well and we were having a great time until....my 11 year old daughter and I went to ride the stealth. We get in the tube and are ready to set off. The lifeguard gives is a kick off which seemed to be kind of lazy. When she does she actually turned us sideways and we flipped over right out of the gate. Now anyone who has been on this ride knows if you flip this is a long fall down and can be very dangerous. My daughter and I plunged down with no raft. Thank god neither one of us were physically injured beyond being a little sore but both of us were visibly shaken up emotionally. After we finally stopped going back and forth on the ride we both sat there hugging each other. My daughter was crying from the traumatic fall. As we sat there not knowing what to do next not one single person checked on us. Other park goers were screaming “are you ok”. After about 2 minutes we decided to shimmy our way down into the pool area where you would normally exit. When we got out of the pool a supervisor immediately came over to ask if we were ok. She was the only one during this that was helpful. I asked to speak to a manager as I was extremely angry because of the negligence of the lifeguard who caused this accident. A manager came over after about 5 minutes. She asked me what happened as she had no clue why she was called over. I explained to her the situation and she could see my daughter was still visibly upset and shaken. The manager apologized but said there was nothing she could do. Her apology was very generic as if she were reading off a paper. I asked if there was something I could have, a report, in case one of us was hurting later and needed to go to the hospital. She stated it would not matter because they do not pay for hospital bills and the only thing she could do was have one of their medics look at us but they still would not pay for anything if we needed to go to the hospital. She then sarcastically asked me “what do you want me to do about this”. I said you tell me you’re the manager here and two of your customers were involved in a situation due to negligence of one of your employees. She said all she could do was reprimand the lifeguard. Then asked if we had fun, trying to defuse the situation, stating they are all about customer service. Again it was like she was reading off a script but did not know how to handle the situation. I clearly told her this was poor on them and we will never be back. This could have been a lot worse than it turned out to be. My daughter does not want to ever go back now. Pretty traumatizing experience that could have ended a whole lot worse for sure. Just glad neither of us were injured or killed. We ended up leaving immediately after my convo with the manager. I was angry and nothing was done about it. As we were leaving the supervisor asked if the manager had taken care of us and I told her no. She was shocked that they didn’t do something for us like a refund for the day because we were leaving after the incident. We had only been there 2 hours and still had an hour left for what we paid for when the issue happened. The last hour was spent talking to management and trying to calm my daughter down. Mentally for me this was a traumatizing experience as all I could think about as we were falling was if my daughter was going to be ok. Very nerve racking for a parent. It replayed in my mind over and over again all evening and I could not sleep all night, it’s 2:30am as I write this. When I think back to the rest of the rides the lifeguards are all very young which it’s nice they are giving them jobs but the training is very poor. Most of the lifeguards are going through the motions. Incredibly disappointed and still shaken.

I was very skeptical about this water park based on the reviews I'd read. So I went with my two boys (12 and 15), with very low expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised!

I had a lot of questions that I wasn't able to get answered from reviews or their website, so I will give you some additional information as well that I found useful.

1. The water park opens at 11am (according to today's schedule), but actually the park opens at 10am (when the rest of the facility opens up) ... the rides just don't start until 11am. We arrived at about 10:15am - we wanted to have plenty of time to check things out and decide what we wanted to do. In addition to the water park, there is also a full arcade, miniature golf, race carts, laser tag and more. We only did the water park. We paid the admission price (about $30/person) and went in to find our seats.

2. Seating. There are lots of options of where to sit - and if you want chaise lounge chairs, regular chairs, picnic benches, or if you want to rent a cabana. We chose 3 lounge chairs under a tree in a grassy area by the wave pool. It was a perfect choice for us. It was mostly families today - and everyone was very respectful of others' property. This became "home base" and gave us a great respit from the sun. I'm all about luxury and and always tempted by the cabanas ... but these didn't impress me. They were in "hut" type stuctures with typical patio furniture ... not chaise loungers. if you have a large group, i can see where this could come in handy. But it certainly wasn't necessary for us.

3 Food. I found the food selection and pricing to be very reasonable. I got a large pretzel and a refillable soda for about $8. I could refill my soda for free all day today ... and if I came back at other times during the summer, I could refill it for $1. For $5, I was very pleased with that. my boys got chicken strips/fries/soda for $9, and a hotdog and milkshake for $8. The milkshakes are $5.50, and are huge ... they are more like softserve ... and are delicious. They also have cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken salads, churros, onion rings, etc. There was a line for food ... but it moved quick enough. If you eat a little before the typical lunch hour, there isn't much wait.

4. Lazy River. I am not a thrill seeker - the lazy river and wave pools are perfect for me. This was a nice size lazy river. it was long enough of a loop to be able to see all the slides and give everyone enough space. It was a little shallower than others ... but it was just fine. The water was clear ... it was quite oxygenated since a few of the slides end into it - but the water was clean. I walked a couple laps of the pool, and the bottom was in good condition. I didn't end up going in the wave pool ... but it looked nice. You can use an inner tube or not - whatever you want.

5. What to Bring. We brought our beach towels, sunscreen, magazines/books/nintendo, sunglasses, money or credit card (with ID). My youngest was wanting his goggles (we forgot them), but he was fine without them. They do a VERY thorough check of bags being brought in. I read you can bring in unopened water bottles - and I wish we would have. No outside food can be brought in at all. Lockers are available for rent - you prepay $11, but then get $5 refunded when you show your receipt and return the key. We didn't rent one - but the process is very clearly posted everywhere.

6. We found all the staff very friendly. We didn't have any issues. I talked to a couple of the lifeguards, and they were all very polite and nice.

7. The boys loved the slides! They didn't like waiting in line ... but they aren't used to lines ... and these really weren't that long - the longest line was a 20 minute wait (however, that was in their description ... so it may have only been 5 minutes!).

8. There is a bathroom within the water park - the women's bathroom has a private changing stall, two showers, and several toilets. I hadn't worn my swimsuit into the park, so I was very pleased to see a changing area - it was much nicer than just using a toilet stall.

I think that's it. I recommend this park - and think it is a great summer activity. We may go back on this trip to check out the mini golf and the arcade - they looked nice. Oh, all inner tubes for all the rides and the lazy river are free. I think they used to charge ... but this summer they are free.

After reading all of the nightmare reviews on here, I expected this place to be a sh*# Show! We were so pleasantly surprised and we will be back!!

DETAILS: We went on a Saturday when the projected temperature was 104 and were told be some locals to expect complete madness. Our party included my husband, myself, our kids (10, 6 and 2.5)--plus additional family members and friends with kids ranging from 4-11.

ARRIVAL: We arrived 10am (as suggested by many reviews) and were about 10th in line to purchase our wristbands. You must have your kiddos with you if they are under 48 inches and getting the lower priced wristband. Staff was prompt and courteous. The reviews on here are correct: for 2018 there is no designated line for e-tickets (purchased online). So there really is ZERO benefit to pre-purchasing. Staff said they eliminated it because there were so many people purchasing on-line that the designated line for redeeming those was overwhelmingly long and those people were waiting longer than those purchasing in person...so for shorter lines for everyone they combined them.

SECURITY: We proceeded around the corner to the water park entrance and got in the entry line. This was probably our longest wait all day! At around 10:30/10:45 they began permitting guests with no bags to enter the park (I believe the security personnel had not arrived yet so it was a way to let some people in and reduce the line). We took advantage of this and split up. I took our two older kids in with no bags while Dad waited behind with the youngest and the bags. He had bags open and ready and said it went smoothly and was very similar to Disneyland security with checking bags.

CABANA: We reserved a cabana for the day since we have a toddler who still naps and it was our 6 year olds birthday and we had relatives coming to join us. I went straight to the check-in and then straight to the cabana to get things situated. We were in #12 at the base of Thunder Falls and Six Shooter. I was told over the phone during booking this wasn't the "best" location because it is far away from the cluster of slides/lazy river/wave pool and kiddie area---but we actually quite liked its privacy and how quiet it was in that area! I can't imagine how noisy the ones at the wave pool and lazy river are! It was clean, and much nicer than I expected based on the online pictures--could use a ceiling fan just to help air circulate. I can't remember our servers name :( but she was wonderful! She came by around 11:30 and dropped off menus and gave us directions on how to call her if we needed anything. We ended up ordering lunch around 1. She let us know it would be about a 45 min wait--so we ordered and then went to ride some slides while we waited. She delivered our cart of food (2 pizzas, 3 chicken tender meals, 3 nachos and 4 beverage pitchers) at EXACTLY the 45min mark. I wanted to give her a tip--but there's no option to add it to a card purchase, you must have CASH TO TIP! Luckily my husband had some cash---this poor girl looked at us like she's never gotten a tip from a customer, EVER--she said "thank you so much" about 10 times. I understand that part of what you pay for with the cabana is the service--but gosh darn it people--tip the poor kid who's bringing you your food and running back and forth in 104 degree heat--she's probably making minimum wage!!

SLIDES: The slides were turned on and ready PROMPTLY at 11am! While waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, our big kids rode 6 Shooter 5 times with no wait between 11-11:20. So arriving early, definitely had benefits! I imagine if we hadn't been waiting for others to arrive, they could have enjoyed some of the other bigger slides wait free during that time as well! Most of the large slides are clustered in one area using the same two stairwells. Look for the signage at the stairways--it will tell you height requirements, and what type of tube you need, if any, before you enter! If you need a tube, you wait in line at the lazy river, and then proceed up to the slide you want to go on. Most of these slides dump into the lazy river, after you exit the ride you float around and then pass your tube off to the lifeguards and exit to get in line again. We rode multiple slide with less than a 10 minute wait before breaking for lunch at 12:45. As the day got later, the lines did get longer--especially around 3 when "nightslide" wristbands were allowed to enter. Still, the longest wait was for Master Blaster at about 40min at peak time. Not bad at all!! It was the first time for two of my kids at the water slides, and I was pleasantly surprised by how kind and helpful the lifeguards were-- apparently a "Hi, how's your day going?" and "thank you" go a long way!

LAZY RIVER/WAVE POOL: These are HEAVY traffic areas with LOTS of people and tubes and fast moving, fast current water. I completely understand why lifejackets are required even on an infant you are holding! My 10 year old is a competitive swimmer and she got run over and squished against the wall by a tube on the lazy river--the tube riders have very little control over how fast and what direction they are moving. WATCH YOUR KIDS, especially young ones AND ones in life jackets, they can easily be swept away! You are permitted to bring your own coast guard approved life jacket--and I saw several younger kids wearing them on the slides themselves. Our toddler had his puddle jumper and wore that in the lazy river, wave pool, and kiddie area!

KIDDIE AREA: It is HUGE! 3 separate pools--10 or 11 different slides total, ranging from little rubber ones that only a toddler could fit on to large, open top body slides with turns that adults can go down! The only thing you need to be very cautious about here is BEES! They were EVERYWHERE! There must be a hive nearby. One of the adult members in our group stepped on one and was stung. She went to first aid and was treated well and they documented both the time and location of the incident--so I'm thinking they are trying to address this problem.

EXIT: We were supposed to be out of our cabana and off the slides at 6pm. But we lingered and no one seemed to notice or mind. My kids went on 6 Shooter a few times right around 6pm while we were packing up and weren't turned away. We finally were all packed up and exited our cabana around 6:30.

Summary: Get there early to take advantage of short lines. Do your research, read what is posted in here and the Park website and you won't have unrealistic expectations. This waterpark is cleaner, better maintained and has a better layout than Cal Expo or any other waterpark we have been to in Northern California. We will be back and we are considering season passes for next summer!

We as a family came to Sunsplash because of a internet special, Father’s Day Free Admission coupon. When we arrived, we were approched about buying a season pass for my son. When we decided to do this, I asked the season pass desk how I go about getting the Father’s Day Free pass and they didn’t know anything about it, they said I would need to ask the desk outside. When I asked the desk outside, they said that I could not get the Father Day Pass because it’s not a regular Day admission. It seem’s funny that we paid $115 for a pass and they don’t see that as a admission pass, even knowing the pass was purchased today, Father Day. Also there is nothing on the online coupon stating anything about a season pass will not work. At that time I asked to talk to a manager and the same younger gentleman came out a just said no again. I then asked to talk to his manager and I got the same young gentleman that I talked to before. He said they could return the season pass and buy a reg. Pass so I could use the Father Days Coupon. Also the manager not coming out to talk to me personally. Cant believe that they didn’t make this happen and lose a season pass holder over this is just unheard of. Plus the fact that my son is only going in for a hour or so and I’m a quadriplegic, and stuck to my wheel chair. I don’t expect anything because I in the wheel chair but they need to be ready for these types of problems.

I went here for a date. It was very fun. We got a Castle Fun Pack each, which includes: 18 holes of mini golf, one go-kart race, one laser tag session and 20 Credits on a Game card. It was a great evening. We ate at the castle and enjoyed the various activities. I think we spent about 3 hours goofing around. We are in our 30's and there were definitely more people that were much younger than us, but it was still really fun and a good price.
