The Sacramento River is underused. The Bend area has a small grocery store and some cooked foods. You can grab a snack and head across the street to the Bend Boat Launch. There are nice restrooms, picnic tables and you can easily get into the water for a dip. If you are lucky enough to have a boat, you can... More

Great wild life area for the most part. Have seen some unsavory folks camping in the middle of nowhere here but I'm usually hunting and armed so not scared. Miss the river being higher level for more boating but floating is relaxing. Plan to fish soon.

We went out to the Sacramento River Bend Area. We also explored the different trails such as Yana Trail. Its a bit dried out now being the end of summer. There is good views of the river in some areas and in other ares its just lots of open land with trees.

Great place to walk, lots of trails. Take a picnic, and just enjoy nature. Lots of birds and flowers.

I loved living out here. The river access is great and is a great spot to float the Sacramento river from. You can float all the way to Red Bluff park. Great scenery and great summer fun!

We took a break from our drive and went to see the Sacramento River bend Area. We took a short walk on one of the trails. There is also places people who have boats can put in their boats to explore the river; we saw several doing this on the pleasantly warm day we were there in September.

Great place to stop for a break from driving on the freeway-----bring a lunch and sit by the river------there are places where the Sacramento River bends and runs north instead of south!!!

explored this general area - there are many, many trails for hiking or biking or horses. Some have washrooms at the trailheads. Some trails are a little harder to find/follow and lonelier than others. In any case, one should probably not be out alone in these parts. I would have given this interesting and diverse nature area four stars, but...... More
