A MUST VISIT LOCATION

This is the newly established northern border of the Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary. As an ocean conservation-minded person, that means a lot to me.

We stopped here while visiting the near by lighthouse. We followed the trail down to the beach and watched the surfers. It was quite windy and chilly while we were there but in nice weather, this would be a great place to picnic and spend the day.

Quite a hike to the ocean through deep sand. We took chairs and just sat and watched the waves. The beach itself has lots of kelp and drift wood. Anytime you can watch the ocean is peaceful!

An amazing off the beaten track beach where we were able to enjoy the beauty of our world unimpeded by the masses. Yes, as other reviewers have stated, a trek from the parking lot is involved, but very much worth the effort! This coastal haven has all the beauty of other Northern California coastlines, without the crowds due to it's... More

My boyfriend and I recently visited this beach after a stay at the Point Arena Lighthouse. It's a long hike from the parking lot to the beach over sandy dunes, so you have to be in walking shape. Once at the beach, you will notice lots of tree trunk debris..lots of it !!! I'm not sure why, but it is... More

The beach is a bit of a drive off the highway which is not bad, but, once parked, you have to climb a fairly large series of sand dunes to get to the beach and then once there walk a fairly long distance to fine a decent spot to lounge. Should you stay long enough to need the restroom facilities,... More

This is a windy, long, sandy beach with a wet lands area that offers lots of trails in the marsh to explore. Not many people in the area. Nice bike/walk in camp area in some wind protected tree area you have to hike to. No one ever seems to know about that area. The camp ground is very nice but... More

We had 10 family members ranging from age 2 to age 70. We were all able to walk there and had a lovely time. It is beautiful to view and walk around.

Remember visiting here as a kid with my parents, now brought my own son here. Gorgeous, expansive beach. Very sparse on people, just the way I like it. Beautiful scenery. TONS of driftwood all over. Well worth the drive to the north coast.

First off, gorgeous beach! Miles and miles of pretty golden sand, composed of tiny polished pebbles of different colors. My kids literally spent an hour sifting through sand to look at these pebbles. We had some confusion getting here. We arrived at the parking lot, no problem. We saw a sign post, which seemed to direct people to a footpath... More
