We go there to walk or kayak. It is close by with food and gas right around the corner. Tons of parking and shade for hot summer weather.

Hiking and walking - Excellent (get out of the beach area and you'll have beautiful nature walk) Beach - Poor (Not enough ground cover in Picnic areas, which makes it a dirty day) Paddle Boats - Excellent (easy to rent, so fun to do. reasonable pricing) Parking - Average (make sure you gear is on wheels - parking fills up... Was never to fond of this place from the beginning. First off the cost of parking isn't the that great compared to the activities that they have. Some of the activities I have seen from going there, is that people can use the beach, go ride bikes and walk their dogs on the trails, but nothing else. There are picnic... More

Shadow Cliffs has several hiking trails you can walk, run, very dog friendly. There is a lake there, but with California water issues, I wouldn't plan on going in. There awesome nice picnic areas to just sit and enjoy the views.

This is a small intimate beach that have lots of picnic tables and BBQ grills for families. Boats can be rented and life jackets are loaned out to make the lifeguard duties a little easier. For a small recreational area, it has lots to offer for families. Don't expect the beach sand and picnic areas to be clean with the... More

This is the only fresh water beach in the neighborhood and you will need to pay if you park there. Because of the rain in the Winter, we have more water to enjoy. You have rental for some water sport. OR you can walk in the wood near the beach. They have a picnic area.
