We liked very much the 2013 Pinot noir with its nice raspberry flavour. The tasting room was nicely decorated and the sommelier on duty knowledgeable. They have the most flagrant Rosemary bushes in the adjoining garden.

Bocce, wine and beautiful weather make for a great experience at this winery. Molly is a fabulous amount of information on the wines that are available as well as knowledge of the area. Fun experience all around

Molly was wonderful, helpful and informative. The property and tasting room are lovely. The wine offering is small - perfect for a tasting. We tasted 4 fabulous wines, then selected one to have on their patio area with a snack. The tasting room is small and perfectly fit a group of four. With a small selection of wines to taste,... The Anderson valley is a little recognized treasure - perhaps the Napa of 30 years ago. Balo is a relatively new winery with an excellent line of wines, a knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a tasting room that is fun to visit. Overall very well worth the visit.

Anderson valley is wonderful, and this is a new wonderful site in the valley. Its a little different since they have bocce courts, which is just inviting you to stay all day and enjoy wine. The wine tasting is pretty typical. They are focused on Pinots, and have some good pinots. Most are priced at $40/bottle.

We spent a couple of wonderful afternoons at Balo. Ambiance: This is a small family owned winery and they have made a terrific effort to have a wonderful and large tasting room that is well decorated and wonderful grounds. The one mood that infuses this winery is relaxed, very relaxed. Wines: They have a small selection of wines and they... More

I have been to Napa a couple of times so coming to Anderson Valley was such a difference. It is the chill and beauty and fabulous wine without all the craziness of Napa. The tasting room and bocce courts at Balo made you just want to sit back and enjoy. A small family owned place that has that attention to... More
