Seal Rock Creek beach is a white sand beach and it is 8th spot on the 17 Mile Drive and nearer to Bird rock. We were able to see sea lions and birds flying around.

Seal Rock is the 8th spot on the 17-Mile Drive. It is just after and adjacent to Bird Rock. One can see Seal Rock covered with barking sea lions and harbor seals from the beach and viewing area at parking lot. One can pay and use a telescope installed at parking lot to see the rock full of barking sea lions, harbor seals and some birds. We enjoyed the sea views and the cool breeze there

There were a couple of seals during our visit that were basking in the sun on their rock. There were plenty of birds flying around and some standing tall on the rock with the seal.

There are certainly times when this is an active beach to observe seals, but our visit in December was not one of them. As so often the case, Mother Nature has her own schedule. Still worth a quick stop to check out for activity.

Seal Rock was stop #8 on our drive and it was a very enjoyable beach to kick off the shoes and socks and just walk through the fine white sand. After being stuck at home these last couple months it was such a contrast with this expansive beach without any crowds of people. Maybe a hidden gem.

To the right Bird Rock was seen off in the distance but one cannot really hear the barking of the sea lions. Looking back to the road huge, multi-million dollar mansions sprawled along the golf course with clear views toward the ocean.

During the summer I bet this little beach is jammed pack. It’s a pretty, small, cool-looking beach. You can hear the seals from there that are on nearby Bird Rock.

The rock on this creek beach looks like a seal from a distance. Spectacular scenes on offer over here. Certainly worth visiting.

Our stop here during the 17 mile drive was marred by a very substantial Sea Fog, which made it very difficult to actually see the seals. The tide was quite rough and although they were playing in the water and you could certainly hear the cacophony of noise, the view was not good. On a clear day this will be an awesome place to stop and take a look at nature at its best.
