Location is easy to find; great indoor and outdoor space; knowledgeable staff and great merch. But you come here for the wine and you definitely have lots of great choices here.

While visiting Paso Robles, our friend booked a wine tasting at this unusual winery. Years ago, it was called the Peachy Canyon 2 tasting room, but has come a long way since then.
It’s now a really laid-back place abiding by all the rules, with its tastings taking place outside on its pretty patio. At the moment all tastings are by appointment for members and their guests, every day except on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
There is a great outdoor seating area under the grapevines, from which our server picked a fresh bunch for us to eat while explaining all the different wines. Their wines labels all have interesting names and artwork, the inside tasting room is bright and cheery.
We tried the Robyn Cradles, Sofa King Bueno, Love Machine, but best of all was the Giant Oak.
They are also very dog friendly too!
TIP: It's worth becoming a member to avoid all the popular crowded places and just sit under the overhead vines and slowly sip their great wine.

This review is for our March 2019 visit (yes a bit late). We visited during Zinfandel weekend. We stopped here because I have had their wine back home and wanted to visit the source. This place is a little bit weird, but everyone seemed to be having a good time. I liked the Dead Nuts and the Purple Paradise. I have been able to get the Suite Petite back home for as little as $9.99 a bottle, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. It seems like the higher price point wines they sell are way overpriced in the stores. Typically I would be able to get the wine cheaper than what they sell it for at the winery. Odd.

In late September we traveled to Paso Robles for a family wedding. We targeted the Friday before the wedding for our wine tasting outing. To be honest we didn't get far because the wineries we visited were all great and there was a lot to enjoy about each of them. In the end we landed at Chronic Cellars with more than a dozen family members and friends. Our goal was to taste their wines and enjoy a picnic on their vine covered patio. Our daughter had told us about Chronic and how much she liked the wines and the casual, fun atmosphere of the winery and staff. She was dead on. Chronic is nothing if not fun, and their wines are surprisingly good. Add to that the colorful names and labels of each wine they make and serve, and we had a group full of smiles and belly laughs. I noticed one of the posters on the wall with the caption "Sofa King Bueno", and it puzzled me, until my brother said "say it fast". It fits right in with their "Rays in Hell" and "Love Insects". After tasting the 6 wines offered, we couldn't resist and signed up for their wine club.
Back home in Danbury a week later we get a hand written card from our hostess thanking us for joining the club. Two days later the 6 wines from the tasting show up via UPS.
What a fun and non-pretentious experience Chronic is. Do yourself a favor. Get your nose out of the air, humble yourself, and have a little fun. Chronic is sofa king bueno!

We detoured from the highway 1 to visit Paso Robles. On recommendation we visited Chronic Cellars for an afternoon wine tasting. For $10 dollars we tasted several of their blended wines that compete with the very best. What makes these wines unique is the fantastic artwork that they display in the tasting room and on the labels. Our oenophile gave us some wonderful back stories to the production of the wines and showed interest in our adventures in the US. We got to keep our glasses and have since discovered Chronic Cellars wines; here in the UK..

There is plenty of parking and the people were nice. I was the designated driver so I did not personally taste the wine but those in my group described it as tasting like astringent and shallow in flavor.

We like their wines even though it was the artistry of the labels that first sucked us in. The winery is fun and happy and the gal working the tasting desk was knowledgeable and friendly.

a bit off the beaten path this winery is worth the visit. The labels, the artwork, the people all made this an enjoyable stop. The sparkling wine warranted a purchase as did the zinfandel Dead Nuts. Spend the money and get a glass to take home!

Fun laid back chill winery! Wines are pretty much all blends which certainly is not a bad thing. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting includes a nice wine glass to take with you. The outside sitting area is nice and shady and a fun place to hang out.
