We have visited TH Estates before and always return when in Paso. Historically, they have been syrah, grenache and mourvedre driven wines, but are now branching out to other varietals, whites and rose'. They also have a sister label - Decroux - which is just Pinot Noir sourced from select vineyards.
A reservation is a must. They are not set up for drop ins. They offer inside and outside tastings of the regular wines, plus a tasting of the reserve wines. They do not provide any credit of the tasting fees toward a purchase.
We have found the staff to be courteous, knowledgeable and engaging.
With all that said, their wines are fantastic. The price point may be a bit much for some. Every time we question that, we open a bottle and understand.

I am a sommelier. TH Estate one of the top wineries in Paso Robles, in my opinion. Karin was our hostess. Very professional and engaging. Served us in the Library/Reserve room.
Great wines. Make sure to include TH in your itinerary.

This winery may get some play because of anyone who may just love Terry Hoage from his NFL?Superbowl days but, what he knew about football, he evidently never learned about business. We visited his winery last Saturday on a tip from a local tour guide. He called ahead to make arrangements and set up the experience. We actually liked a few of his wines but, if you're used to having your tasting fee waived IF you make a wine purchase, FORGET THAT HERE!! We had been promised the ability to buy wine at wine club prices if we bought wine but that did not happen. OK, we could understand why that did not happen, but we certainly expected them to waive the tasting fee when we made a purchase. NO WAY!!! In fact, we've since learned that they have adopted this policy for all customers. This is decidedly not a policy that supports the social spirit of discovering new wines and, if they persist, will most certainly make them a pariah among wineries in the region.

Hi Jim,
Please excuse the very delayed response...only six years behind...yikes :)
I do understand your frustration as missed expectations are usually not a fun think to deal with. It seems we definitely missed the mark with you.
We 100% support local wineries and always strive to have an inclusive culture between the wine community and our guests/members.
I do hope you were able to find a winery that aligned with your expectations.
Kind regards,
Brandon

Had a very nice tasting today with the assistant winemaker. Wines are good if a bit pricey. We were guests of wine club members but we' were still charged an outrageous $20 for tasting 4 wines, with no refund after purchasing 2 bottles of wine. There are a huge number of wineries in Paso that have better wine and charge less for tasting, and credit the tasting fee upon purchase of wine.TH Estate is not worth the price.

Hi Lynn,
Great to hear you had an enjoyable tasting. We appreciate you taking the time to visit our winery. Just to provide some clarification, our members receive either two or four complimentary bar tastings depending on their type of club membership. Tasting fees are waived either through becoming a club member or purchasing three bottles. I'm sorry for your frustration over the pricing as it seemed you had a nice experience speaking with our assistant wine maker.
All the best,
TH Estate Wines

I have been a member here for three years. The Rhone style wines are nothing less than phenomenal. Frequently library wines are available for tasting. I recommend a private tasting in which you will be seated in a beautiful room with Riedel stemware and library and new release wines. Wine club manager Evan will treat you wonderfully.
The wines usually are rated low to mid 90s by WA.
The tasting room is up a little dirt road to a beautiful rustic structure surrounded by the vines.
Oh, Saxum buys from TH Estate wines.
A final matter - this winery was known as Terry Hoage - but switched due to trademark issues.

Charging 15$ tasting fee and don't apply it to a purchase of a $40-$55 bottle of wine. There are to many good wineries in Paso with better wine and priced much less, and will apply the tasting fee .Won't be going back.

Beautiful spot and great wine. The tasting was fun and relaxed. Both of us enjoyed the wine. We were the only ones in the tasting room on a Monday afternoon. Highly recommended.

Good wines overall, good quality, but too way overpriced for bottles ranging $70 and up.I have tasted much better wines at that price point around Paso. And as another reviewer stated before, beware of joining the club. I wish I read that warning before. They really stick to the letter and make you refund all the discounts PLUS a penalty fee if you cancel or pause the membership, no matter the issue you might have, if you don't fulfill all their requirements. Yes, you can spend $500 on wines and they still charge you a penalty fee plus all the discounts and tastings.
Pretty vineyards, high end winery, but prices and "exclusivity" not worthy to me. Mostly because there are much better options and better wines around.

Hi Raul,
Thank you for coming into TH Estate Wines. We value our members and guests opinions and appreciate your thoughts. In regards to our wine selections starting at $70 and up I'm not sure where that number came from as our wine options start at $32. As far as our club policies we do the very best to provide an extremely high quality member experience and accommodate our guests/members needs. Like a majority of wineries in the Paso region there is a required allocation of two shipments. I do apologize if this was not brought to your attention during the sign up process as we always make sure to inform our members.
I do hope you were able to find wineries that aligned with your needs.
Kind regards,
TH Estate Wines

I hadn't heard about this winery before visiting and it was just down the road from our hotel (the Canyon Villa Inn). This is a really incredible winery with high scoring wines and incredible staff. One not to miss for sure.
