About
Located off of Highway 46 West in Paso Robles, the winery sits on forty acres and is surrounded by the winery's dry farmed grapevines. These vines produce very low tonnage and extremely high quality fruit, resulting in robust Italian style wines. The winery uses only its own grapes in order to ensure top quality. Total annual case production is approximately 1800 cases, although production varies based on rainfall. The wines are made in the Italian style so they pair wonderfully with rich, flavorful foods and will age for many years. The wines produced include Italian and Bordeaux varieties as well as Italian and Bordeaux blends. All these wines are best paired with food or cellared for a number of years.

Small family owned winery with our favorite wines - Sangiovese and Barbera. We enjoyed visiting with Gino learning about their history of wine making in a very pleasant personal setting.

If you want to know the true history of a generational winery, this is the spot to go. Geno and his 2 daughters are the main employees. Their love of the land and the wine are very obvious. We had some fabulous "Italian" wines. Geno was very informative, and gracious with his time. This is not a fancy winery, but it's definitely one as a must for a true wine-lover. Prices are also quite reasonable.

A first time visit to this small family owned operation. We went on a whim and based on their interesting website...the SHOCK was HOW WONDERFUL were the 6 wines the 4 of us tasted. It was difficult to rank them...they were that uniformly outstanding. Mainly Italian grape varietals. Joined their club and looking forward to the next shipment. GO!!

I came here for this winery after away for several years. Low key and modest surroundings…great Italian varietals. We visited either the owner/winemaker of this family owned winery. A really enjoyable two hour tasting. Needless to say, left with over a case as intended.

We've been a member of this winery for about six years now. Don't know why I've been neglectful in review them. Their wines are amazing! All Italian varietals and blends. They do not do whites and don't ask, LOL. The owners, Geno and Carolyn, are often on hand to meet. Their daughter Kathy is now primarily the winemaker (as long as she keeps daddy Geno happy). Their daughter Joanne is also helping running the winery. Their wines are our favorites. They lay down beautifully and get even better if you can keep from drinking them. This is a very small volume winery and a must try experience for fans of robust red wines that are always well balanced with great nose and smooth finish.

We always love visiting this winery. We have also been to several winery dinners here. The food and wine and especially the people are outstanding. These wines hold up very well to age!

An unpretentious winery off Hwy 46 on a hard pan road. Kind of reminiscent of Italy. Our wine tour was limping along on a Tuesday with many of the wineries closed. But prompted by a comment about Italian wine, our guide suggested Fratelli Perata. We totally lucked out. Each of the several wines we tasted stood on its own as a great example of full-bodied Italian red wine. After much discussion and sampling, we decided on a bottle of 2015 Merlot. Funny that we had also favored a Merlot during a wine tour in Chianti in 2015. Now if we can just be patient and wait for that special meal.
We highly recommend this winery, and the many favorable reviews are spot on.
I do wish that the Barbera had been open awhile longer. Plenty of promise.

We just returned from another three-day trip to Paso Robles and a highlight was a picnic lunch at Fratelli Perata. We always stop there for their terrific dry-farmed Italian varieties, but our visit this time was the best ever. Wonderful hospitality at this small, family-run winery, and a wonderful picnic spot on their sun-filled deck. These folks were among a handful of the wine pioneers who started things in the Paso AVA so it's always a treat to be able to pay our respects to the founders!

Been here twice now and it is my favorite in the Templeton Gap. Friendly family with lots of knowledge. I enjoyed all of the wines I tasted here. Joined the wine club so I can' enjoy the wine all year long. The Barbera was by far my favorite.
