Although there is nothing exceptional about the appearance of this winery the wine tasting experience is exceptional. Get there early and spend some time with "Grape" as he walks you through their listed (and unlisted) wines. We walked out with a case of their excellent wines.

Wines are below average and Victoria is very unprofessional and unscrupulous buyer beware! She will sell you wines that are older vintages that have gone bad.If she gets ahold of your credit card she will enroll you in a membership that you cannot get out of. She lies and charges you for wines without notice. The worst thing is I got charged for a shipment $200.00 and it never came. They play cat and mouse games when you call and try to resolve the issue. Who does business like that? There are much better places to taste become a member of in Paso.

BEWARE!! DO NOT JOIN WINE CLUB!! We canceled after meeting our wine member 12 bottle obligation, SO WE THOUGHT! They debited $400 without any warning. We have other memberships and they always let you know when and how much they will debit your account. Hunt Cellars on the other hand seems to be running some kind of scam: on August 25, we called letting them know that we canceled our membership and a mistake had been made and we want our money back. Victoria told us that they were collecting to offset a credit that had been given to us and asked rudely, "why did you not call us when we gave you a credit!" During this conversation we were able to research our account and went back two years to find no such credit. Victoria's reply was she would have to research it and call us back. Two weeks later we had to call again. This time spoke with Amber and she said Victoria would have to authorize the refund and she is on vacation. Amber asked us if we would like to receive wine in return. We said, "No, that defeats the purpose of canceling a wine club membership." We told her to have Victoria call us when she returned from vacation. Another two weeks go by and again we had to initiate the call back. Amber again took message for Victoria to call back. Again we had to call and this time did speak with Victoria, who then fed us a story about software that was not updated and caused the system to charge customers randomly and that Hunt Cellars was unaware because it only registered on merchant services records, who is 3rd party merchant. She proceeded to say that they are in the process of learning new system and would have to research our account and call back within the hour. Again no call back! We have asked to speak to owners and cannot get past front office. Now today we find out that they shipped us wine two weeks ago. Two weeks ago we told Amber, "we do not want a refund in wine!" Victoria now wants to put blame on Fed Ex and send us on a wild goose chase with tracking numbers totally fast talking her way out of the fact that we canceled our membership and have been trying for over five weeks to get $400 back that rightly belongs to us!
Makes you wonder if the owner is turning a blind eye to the shady business practices? We will report to Better Business Bureau, trip advisor, and if we need to stand out in front of Hunt Cellars with flyers warning our fellow wine lovers of the fraud and deceit these people are trying to get away with....WE WILL!!!

We went to a very nice paired wine dinner at Hunt Cellars during the Zinfandel Festival.

David Hunt and his wife and family did a fabulous job. The catering was done by Executive Chef Travis Barbo from Estrella Restaurant.

Both the restaurant staff and winery staff did a great job of serving us.

The first course was served in the garden area. It was a nice spring day.

Food there was passed appetizers. The wine available for tasting was sauvignon blanc 2010, Malbec, and Zinfandel.

We then went inside. There were about 40 diners. David Hunt described the food and paired wine before each course. He also told interesting stories about the winery and winery business. We also heard about the impressive list of awards his wine has won in worldwide locations.

The courses we had with wine were

1) Roasted Corn and Crab Chil Relleno with pineapple salsa
Paired with 2010 Cinque D'Blanc - 91 Points

2) Pirnce Edward Island Mussels steamed with Chorizo, wine, and smoked chili cream
Paired with 2009 Maestro Super Tuscan Blend 92 Points,

3) Blackened Selva Tiger Prawns with Roasted Garlic, Black Pepper Cream Sauce
Paired with 2010 Thriller Zinfandel Blend - 94 Points

and

Special Wine: 2007 Cabovation Cabernet Sauvignon - 96 piints

4) Espresso Rubbed Double R Ranch Flat Iron Steak with home made chimichurri, served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed seasonal vegetables.

Paired with: 2010 Outlaw Ridge Zingandel 94 Points Winner Best of CA

5) and for dessert

Coconut Flan with Kahlua Glaze topped with espresso whipped craem cheese and sauteed seasonal vegetables

Paired with 2000 Zinfandel Tawny Port - 96 Points

All the food and wine pairings were superb.

We purchsed some wine at reduced prices for the dinner.

We were then entertained by David Hunt on the piano. He plays splendidly.

It was an awesome evening and we enjoyed talking with the other guests

Our Uber driver recommended this place and it’s small but cute. They had a nice complimentary cheese and bread plate they offered to all guests. Nice tasting room.

Didn't expect to stop before heading back from Cambria to Livermore, but this place looked inviting and small enough to not be crowded on a Sunday. What a great surprise! We walked in and were very pleasantly greeted by the gentleman behind the tasting bar (I wish I had caught his name). Tasted about 6-8 of their wines and really not a bad one in the mix. Especially liked the Cab and Pinot poured that day. While tasting, we were educated about the difference between male/female taste buds, the lifestyle up at Lake Nacimiento, and other random wine facts. Their wines definitely showcase the nuances of the climate in which the grapes are sourced. Will be back!

We were on our way back to our Motor Home after touring the Hurst Castle. We pulled in here late to get a wine tasting in for today. What a find. I never would join a wine club. after tasting these we did join.
Love the Cinq D" Blanc. It was terrific. Got to the reds and even better. Then we tried the port, and Phenomenal.
Thank you Marina for a great time. You know your wine.

My wife and I had been on vacation and driving from San Francisco to Santa Monaca. One of our stops was the Pasa Robles wine area. I had read so much about the wines of this area I was excited to see if the great reviews were true. We had done a lot of research and Hunt Cellars was the first winery we tried and believe me I was not disappointed. The two young ladies in the tasting room went way overboard to explain the wines and gladly went off the flight to find a wine I might enjoy. I will say that Hunt Cellars Cabernet was fantastic. I bought a case and had it shipped home. Of the four wineries I visited that day this one topped all the rest.

A lovely little spot with a quiet area for a picnic under the oaks. Tastes in wine can be very subjective, but I found their wine at the top of the five visited in one day near Paso Robles. I particularly liked their ports, including one particularly nice white port; a bottle of which made its way home with me.

Hunt Cellars produces some of the most nuanced wines in California. They really show off their terroir and expertise in wine making. Well done.
