We stopped here after a long day of driving and site seeing from Southern California. No one at the hostess stand when we arrived at 320pm. When I walked inside looking for someone there were maybe 5 tables occupied out of the many tables open. I was told we could buy a bottle but they were no longer doing tastings. The parking lot was pretty open as well. I don’t know what was going on. We are members in Temecula and have been all over vineyards in Italy and never had an experience at a vineyard like that. I don’t know how their wines are but their service is definitely lacking. I wasn’t going to buy a bottle without doing a tasting, but the interaction put me off and I won’t be back. We found a better spot 5 minutes away.

Very interesting location with a nice tasting room. Service is very friendly and the tasting room had a young female Bernese mountain dog. A special tasting was prepared for us. We liked the wines overall, but were not wowed by the 2018 white (60% Roussanne and Viognier). The 100% grenache was good, but our favorites were the Oublie and the 100% Syrah called Fracture. We also tried the My Favorite Neighbor red, which we liked very much. Prices are on the high end and the tasting is $30.

This is for sure the most beautiful tasting room in Paso Robles ; contemporary and friendly sophistication. Hip vibe too. Very good service and a great host . Wines were not extensive but very good. The wandering Great Pyrenees was a sweet addition

Hip, cool, great setting and super wine. Incredible setting on its own unique piece of property - everyone working there was friendly and knowledgable, and very passionate. There's a great history to the vineyard and its owners. We loved the reds here, Fracture and Oblielle (spelling?). go and enjoy!

I have been a subscriber to Booker's wine club for a few years. I am on the verge of quitting because I am struggling to justify prices of $60 per bottle and above given the quality of the wine. While the wine is good, I don't think the price matches the quality of the wine.
As frustrating for me is the paucity of information from the vineyard which has diminished with time. In the early shipments, the commentary gave guidance on when they anticipated that the wine would be at peak which in some cases was a few years in the future. Now, mysteriously the same wines are drinkable now or within one year. I am puzzled as to how, across the board, their wines go from requiring cellaring to being immediately drinkable. My sense is that this is driven more by the market than the reality of the wine. Their customers weren't ordering more wine because they were waiting for the optimum drinking which was years in the future. Why not get them drinking sooner so that we can clear out the cellars at the winery?
Obviously, the choices of wine purveyors is beyond most consumers' ability to master. So I am going to let Booker go and pursue other wineries that equal their quality at prices that are more reasonable.

This was our second visit to Paso Robles. Blake and I were excited to try Booker. They were sold out when we were visiting in August the year before - we were told we did not need an appointment. We visited on the afternoon of April 20, 2012 on a Friday. It was around 2:30 PM and I was beyond excited to visit this winery. It's one of the top wineries in Paso. The week before I was having wine with a friend at the Strand House in Manhattan Beach - we ordered a bottle of the Booker Ouble 2009 which was amazing. After trying the wine, it was at the the top of my list of wineries to visit ( along with Denner, RN Estate, Linne, etc).
We arrived at the winery and a girl was outside pouring for a group of people. She was very friendly and greeted us. We walked inside and a girl with long blond hair (can't remember her name) asked if we would like to do a tasting. I told her how I just had their wine and I was excited to taste their other wines - i even showed her a picture of the wine on my iphone. She barely cracked a smile or showed any interest in our excitement. She proceeded to pour us our first wine and turned around and started drying and rearranging glasses. She never told us about the wine or inquired if we had questions. Her back was to us for the majority of our visit.
Since I am a wine nut, I was anxious to learn about their blends, what kind of barrels, how long they aged their wine, where they sourced their grapes and learn more about the wine maker Eric. I KNOW NOTHING about Booker wines, the winemaker, the history, etc. I was so angry and frustrated about the level of service - I did not want to buy any wine. We ended up buying one bottle and would have bought a lot more had our experience been different. The girl completely ignored us - was busy doing everything else but doing what she should be - educating customers about Booker and answering any questions they may have. Twice we couldn't even get her attention to get another glass of wine and we were the only two people in the tasting room. I shared my experience with the proprietor of an establishment and he indicated that they had been hearing the same comments from various individuals and that they don't even send people there any longer due to the feedback. I try not to let others feedback cloud my judgement but it was interesting that others shared in my experience. I tried to call the winery and email them but was told I would have to send my comments to the info email and i wanted it to go straight to Eric. I would want to know if my customers had this type of experience. We will try the winery again to see if our experience is better and give it another chance however, the owners really should take note - we would have bought more wine, joined the wine club and told all our friends to visit. It would be a shame to have a great wine tainted by the experience tasting in ones facility especially when our experience everywhere else was nothing short of GREAT.

With food pairing, friendly people, a cool breeze, and the most gracious hosts, our evening at Booker ranks as one of my all time best ever tastings. Scrumptious is the only word that comes to mind.

We did a tasting here because we enjoy old world wine. Booker does not disappoint. Every wine we tasted was delicious. No fruit bombs here, just smooth earthy and delicious wines! The young ladies who pour are knowledgeable and lovely. The tasting room is intimate and you definitely come here for the wine vs a big view. We will return.

Stunning tasting room, excellents reds, but their staff need to lose the attitude. If I wanted an overly expensive, unwelcoming tasting experienced, I'd go to Napa instead.

The Booker Winery is a little gem amongst the too many average Paso wineries.
The staff is personable and most conversant about the wines offered for tasting.
The wines are grown is a special part of the Paso area, adjoining the fields that produce Laventure and Caliza. Full of fruit and substance, their reds are luscious and superb.
Excellent tasting facility.
