The view is lovely but not as nice as Daou. Same with the wine. It was not terribly busy when we arrived but we seem to have been the straw that broke the camel's back when it came to ordering food.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm so sorry that this was your experience; it's not representative of the level of service we strive to meet. We serve our food and wine pairing Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm-3pm, not knowing the exact situation, we always try to accommodate anyone who comes in after 3pm as long as the kitchen isn't shut... Beautiful tasting room and amazing views from the outdoor picnic area. Alexa, our wine server, was very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. Loved the Moose and Syrah! If you don't mind paying $40+ for quality wines, this is an excellent stop when visiting Paso. We joined the wine club and look forward to our next visit.

I love this vineyard. I want to tell you that Phillipe was rude, had poor wine knowledge and total disregard for the vineyard, but that would be untrue. He gave us a private tour and talked about, like he was the owner. Proud as a peacock to be part of this team and really told us the back story and... More

We went to Calcareous with lunch in-hand on a warm afternoon. Sitting around a table, with umbrella, we enjoyed lunch with a bottle of Lily Blanc and looked down at the valley below. You cannot beat this awesome view. The wines are great and the staff even more pleasant. This is a "must visit" winery in San Luis Obispo County.

Thought it would be fun to take our out of town friends to share one of our favorite wineries. Unfortunately it was a Monday afternoon and it never occurred to me they might not have their "A" team staff on duty. The young lady was pleasant enough but had only been on the job for two weeks and could not... More

Yes, it's a beautiful tasting room with a view to match, but for a fine wino that is all secondary to the quality of wines. The beautiful wines were equal to the room and view. I especially liked the ZSM (Zin/Syrah/Merlot blend. How's that for unique? The Devil's Canyon Syrah was yummy, but a bit pricey. We bought a case... More

Calcareous winery has the second-best view in Paso, only coming in slightly behind Daou. Both views are amazing. You can definitely see the calcareous soil all around you as you drive up the winding road to the top. The wine tasting was only $10 and we were able to enjoy our tasting out on the patio with the breathtaking views.... More
