Wild & natural. The former site of a huge Victorian mansion, razed in 1961.... Meandering paths, California Native Plants, Hidden spots & nooks.... Best of all the signs: "This is a Garden; Not a Playground or Park" It is Free and that's a plus.

I’ve been to the Botanical gardens of Catalina Island, and I was hoping to see a similar display of native plants. It was rather rundown and unkept. My seven year old and I planned for a picnic, but the setting was rather sad and discarded-looking.

Outstanding garden. One of the best, public or private. Quite large but with enough 'garden rooms' that I never felt it was crowded. Some lovely, inspirational hardscape design elements. Only thing that could make it better would be more plant info that is printed on...More

I don't think it would be very easy to take someone in a wheelchair thru the garden..because the garden sits on an uphill slope and all the paths are sandy and uneven, none are paved. However, noone should be deprived, so I... More
