Such a beautiful place so close to everything. Peaceful for the most part and beautiful. Lots of wildlife to see.... I say peaceful for the most part because there is a small prop engine airport just adjacent to this place. Still worth the visit!

The Baylands is absolutely my favorite place to walk! There's a 2.5 mile arc starting from either Palo Alto (off Embarcadero Rd.) or Mt. View (off San Antonio Rd.) that's flat and lovely. Being a birder and photographer, I've walked it at all times of year and it's always great. Birders will love the variety of birds including Curlews, Marbled... More

I am not exactly clear about what is included in Baylands Nature Preserve but this area affords some tremendous opportunities for bird watchers. Travelling along highway 101 we take the San Antonio Rd. exit and then park along Terminal Blvd. From there we hike along the Adobe Creek Loop Trail or the Bay Trail. There are always lots of birds... More

On a clear day you can see San Francisco up the bay in one direction and San Jose in the opposite. In March the number of white egrets among the brown grass and mud was a sight to see. It's a nice place to go for a long walk or run.

A short circle around the pond is a gtreat family thing to do. Bring some bread and feed the geese, they are aggressive! If you go to the parking lot for Baylands, the hike out the long "pier" over the wetlands is also very nice.

The Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve is quite simply gorgeous. It is a wonderful place to take long walks and enjoy nature. Very close to downtown Palo Alto so it makes exercising in nature accessible for those of us who travel.

I discovered the undercrossing to the baylands with my puppy today and was so excited to see all of the different types of birds floating and flying above the waters. The path is clearly marked for bicycles and although we saw a few bicyclists, we passed by many more joggers. It is a wonderfully serene place to be....even on a... More

Nice hiking trails along the water, with plenty of wading birds, ducks and raptors. Low tide is particularly interesting. Great place to take kids.

A small quite place, away from the main action area. This is marsh, but the marsh has been converted into a lovely place of attraction. There are some ducks, swans which will keep you busy. The low flying private jets is an attraction for kids.
