Beautiful kept gardens and grounds surrounding historic old mansion of Gamble family. It's clear this is a treasured piece of land in Palo Alto. Serene and notable spot for locals to come take pictures of families and engagement photos, as well as pet photos!

I really enjoy stopping here when I am in Palo Alto. It is very serene and beautiful. It is very nice to see a large variety of plants whether they are native or not (large native area). The flowers last weekend were absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful gardens, free to the public. Not a lot of land, but nicely prepared and displayed. Free parking. The Gamble house was closed for the holiday when I visited. Check the website for activities.

If you had money in the late 1800s, you could live like this. The mansion is typical of the upper class "turn of the century" family. The garden was made to show off the family wealth since it obvilously took a full-time gardening staff to...More

The primary purpose for my visit was birding, knowing that floral displays would be minimal at this time of year. Even though the grounds are so well manicured that there is little cover for ground-loving birds, I did spot 18 species in the trees and...More

Hi, I have doctor appointment in Stanford on Friday and plan to visit your garden after. My questions are: Is it handicapped accessible? Or is it easy to walk around if you are limping? How about parking? Is there a restaurant/cafe onsite for light snack/coffee? How much is entrance fee? Thank you
