Stanford University campus lends itself to a very nice walk with friends and family. It is completely flat, so you if you have small children or a stroller, this is ideal. You can just stroll around the very pleasant grounds, or explore some beautiful historic buildings. All around, well worth it.

There are so many esthetically pleasing gardens, vantage points, art work, varied architecture and places to ponder the wonder of education at this university. The vast campus offers unique spaces both large and intimate to enjoy solitude or interact with fellow students. Wonderful library, ornate church, multiple dining areas and very large campus store.

I work on a college campus, and it's extremely rare that tourists take the time too look around our buildings. But it's clear when walking around Stanford that there are many people just enjoying looking around the lovely buildings. Take some extra time to check out the chapel, located right inside the main entrance... stunning mosaics on every wall.

For most people, just walking around and enjoying the buildings and the landscaping will be the reason to visit.

Very active campus with lots of people riding bicycles, so you need to stay alert when walking around. We stopped to visit the campus bookstore to pick up some clothing for family members. The campus was easy to navigate and the bookstore was easy to find.

This place is well laid out and has beautiful old and new buildings, especially the Spanish Mission style originals. The Visitor Centre provides a really good free 1-hour walking tour to introduce the campus and show you around the highlights. Spacious without being too spread out. Great atmosphere.

Stanford is a very LARGE spread out campus. The central area, known as the Quad, is where many of the original buildings are located. Must see is the collection of sculptures by Rodin. Other parts of the campus are nice to see. For the medically inclined, the Medical Center area has also a lot to see with many displays lining... More

Not an easy place to navigate, but once you locate a few of the choice old buildings like the Stanford Chuch, well worth the effort.
