We took the university tour on a Sunday morning, had a great guide named Teo, but we were in a very large group. We had a quick overview of some of this humongous campus. The chapel is lovely, the hospitals are HUGE (though they weren't...More
Stanford is one of my favourite US universities.
On my very first visit to the US from Australia, in 1975, I travelled to Palo Alto to look around the Campus, the Cecil H Green Library, the Chapel aka Stanford Memorial Church and the Cantor Arts...More
Spent about 1/2 day on the beautiful campus and visited the very interesting art museum which has a very large collection of Rodin sculpture among other fascinating items. Great way to spend part of a day.
Stanford, just the name itself stands out, and it is one of the best universities in the world.
Located in Palo Alto, it offers one of the most diverse fields of studies in the US, and many of the brightest students attend this wonderful university....More
Great staff & housekeeping, location, clean, no comp bkfst but close to California Ave for shpg, dining & other cheap eats. Very close to Stanford Univ & its hospital. Room has fridge, TV, mcrwv, toaster, coffee maker that I didn't use, walk-in shower, comp chocolates...More
This is my fourth visit to Stanford in four years. But this is the first time I truly had time to drive the length and breath of this awesome Campus. It was 2018 Commencement Weekend and the entire Campus was bright and shinning. Lovely experience.
I wish I had more time to spend on campus here. Just passing through, the beauty of the setting is stunning. The oval is an absolute delight! And the promenade into and out of it lined with many a palm tree.
The University has great art, architecture, and history. Visit the museum and the Quad. Don't miss the bookstore and the fountains (dip your feet or more!) Great for biking and casual walking.
Parking is not easy - look for the pay parking near the Union.
I would say to just avoid on campus driving and parking. I'd stay on the perimeter (maybe park at a shopping center) and walk in because parking is tight, traffic on campus is very slow with people arriving, and it takes... More
