A very nice location with an excellent guided hike through the canyon to a very pretty waterfall. There are some steep steps, but the trail was well maintained and not too rigorous. Lot's of interesting historical sites and beautiful vistas. You can go off on your own, but the Ranger/Guides do a nice job of explaining things at no extra... More

This is a beautiful canyon, very close to Palm Springs, which offers a moderate round-trip hike (about an hour if you are in reasonable shape) to a beautiful waterfall. On my last trip I also saw big-horned sheep walking nearby. Beautiful!

My wife and I was able to walk the trail in about an hour and a half. Great view of a water fall and the end of the loop. 12.50 to get in per person. Complimentary walking sticks to use on the trail.

It's almost in town, so you don't have to drive very far to get there. Great for healthy, fit families. Great views of Palm Springs. Ranger guided walks at 10am. Can be cool, so wear layers in winter. If the rains have been good there is a fairly good size waterfall half way. It's not really a birders paradise though.... More

This canyon is somewhat limited in size - I had expected more trails and area to hike in, but the self enclosed 2 mile loop with the waterfall at the top of the loop/canyon was just right for a family hike. Medium/easy in difficulty, it was just right for all our family members. 100% recommend doing the Ranger-led hike -... More

We started our day with a trip to Moorten Gardens but as luck would have it, they were closed. We spontaneously decided to drive over to Tahquitz Canyon, just a mile away. We were five minutes into our walk when we come upon a Ranger tour and asked if we could join in. The ranger, Mike, whose Indian name is... More

It's only a two mile hike, but it takes you into the canyon at the base of the mountains and a lovely waterfall reward at the end. Check out the history of the place. It's interesting!

Beautiful area with a vistors center and hand out material. Self guided trails take you to photo opportunities galore. Be sure to take a picknic lunch with you.

This is a hiking venue that is right next to downtown PS. Because it is tribal land there is a small admission fee ($12.50 per adult, with a discount if you bring a brochure found in most hotel lobbies). The main hike is about an hour long to a specular waterfall. The San Jacinto mountains had earlier snow so the... More

Plan to visit this special Indian place when the crowds are few and it will be a very enchanting experience. Spring is really nice when the flowers are blooming and hummingbirds are out but watch for rattlesnakes. They are plentiful here.
