Our guide Jonathan was fabulous - we made many stops along the way to learn about the native plants, rock formations and the native ancestors who lived here. His infinite patience and thoughtful detail made it a great hike for our group young and old alike. The waterfall was a super destination! In warmer weather we would have gone in... More

It's pretty rare to find a fast flowing waterfall in the middle of the desert but his hike had it. The hike itself isn't too difficult. There are some steeper steps but nothing too strenuous. It took about 90 minutes with 3 of us moving at a decent pace and stopping throughout to get some pics. Plus it was only... More

If you've got knee, hip, or ankle problems, this hike will totally push you to your limits. The trail is great, but there are a lot of big steps - 10" and higher that require a huge effort both up and down. Definitely a walking stick hike as a mis-step would lead to injuries on all the sharp edged rocks.... More

One mile and beautiful waterfall at the top. Not sure I would go during July-Aug. The parking is close and the view is to die for... One of many small hikes I would recommend.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the hike to the waterfalls. With all the recent rain in California it was nice to have the river flowing through the canyon, and of course the waterfalls. The hike is scenic and moderately difficult. We saw a family of bighorn sheep probably 500 feet above us. What a treat!

We recently signed on for a ranger led of Tahquitz Canyon near Palm Springs. Glad we went with the ranger as he was a fund of information on the native tribe that lived in this area several thousand years ago. He was also very knowledgable about the plants and shrubs they used for food and medicine. The views all the... More

A beautiful, easy hike. Because this is in a reservation, you pay $12.50 per person, which I consider high. But, it was indeed beautiful, the rangers were friendly and I would definitely do this again. We saw a local's trail outside of the reservation, so not sure what that one is, but it might be worth exploring if you want... More

Easy to find, close to downtown Palm Springs, $10 with a coupon and you can borrow a stick if you need one! If you have a problem with steep or large steps you might want to give it a miss!

Nice trail takes one up the mountainside via switchbacks. There was a steady number of friendly hikers. This trail is very close to the rest of Palm Springs, so it was a nice, quick getaway into nature. I would do again next time I visit. Our black lab enjoyed it, but could not see why we did the switchbacks. Maybe... More
