I hiked the Skyline Trail from Palm Springs to the Ranger Station near the tram. I then hiked a couple more miles in the park. This is a beautiful mountain and park to explore. The ranger station is at nearly 8600 feet and the temperature averages 30 degrees cooler than in Palm Springs. A great place to visit and get... More

If you not afraid of heights and taking the trip up to the top in a glass Dome, then take the trip up. The view on the way and the experience of being in a Glass dome that rotes 360 deg slowly as you climb up the cable is absolutely amazing. I can not believe I was seeing snow capped... More

Hiking the 11 mile round trip from the tramway station to the peak of San Jacinto is not easy, but feels really well when you return to the tram station after about 7 hours of hiking. Great experience of nature and mountains. Last weekend of April, there was still so much snow on the ground that crampons are needed for... More

We hiked up the 5.5 miles from the Aerial Tramway. There is still a fair amount of snow this year and the rangers caution hikers to do the trip. Definitely be prepared with the 10 essentials and we were happy we had our microspikes. But if you are prepared head to Wellman's Divide for a great view. If you have the... More

An amazingly trip all the way to the mountain peak was experienced on a sunny day but with chilled winds on top of the mountain. Loved the park with such a mesmerizing atmosphere and so peaceful.

Took the tram up the mountain and were blessed with beautiful scenery (all the way up) and great hiking at the top. The San Jacinto range is breath taking and shouldn't be missed if you're in Palm Springs... it's too easy. My wife is afraid of heights but stood on the inside of the tram with no problem. Catch a... The forest is so beautiful and smelled lovely this spring. There was just a touch of snow here and there and water running through the creek area.

We only had an afternoon to explore the park on this mountain while visiting Palm Springs. We took the tram up the mountainside to do some short hikes from the lodge at the top of the tram. There are many miles of trails in this wilderness area and you quickly leave the crowds behind as you explore the area. Be... More
