Compared to Palm and Andreas Canyons of the Indian Canyon group, maybe not as scenic ... but, still worth a visit.

Like the author below, I hiked shortly after a rainfall (probably the same storm) but I enjoyed the crossings and found the hike to be wonderful. Just no pleasing some people. You won't get a "wow" view at the end; however, hiking amidst the groves of palm trees in the lush canyons will give a great respite from the arid... More

We hiked the Murray Canyon trail a few days after a rain in the desert. We had to cross the stream in many places and, by the end of the hike, both of my boots and socks were soaked. The stream is not easy to cross when there is even a small amount of water, but the hike is gorgeous... More

This was a gorgeous hike along a river that at the turnaround point had a view of some very interesting but private, old stone homes that I assumed are Indian owned. Great spot, maybe an hour to complete and then good picnicing.

The weather forecast said a high of 82 degrees for the day, but it felt much hotter than that. We went the first week of April and there was still water flowing. If there wasn't water flowing, this hike would be a less interesting as the trail criss-crosses the stream throughout. The palm trees and rock formations made this hike... More

The Murray Canyon trail is an easy little hike that offers a completely different desert experience. We take all our first time desert guests to Murray Canyon so that they can see that the valley is much more than just endless alternating golf courses, condo developments and sage brush filled empty lots. Highly recommended.

Did this as one of the Trails when we visited Indian Canyons. Nice 3 mile trail, but you need the right footwear! Also, take plenty of water.
