Day trip from LA was great but we arrived about 9:10 am & were thankful to avoid the crowds especially what we saw on the way down. Cable car is interesting as it rotates offering everyone a 360 d view. Once up there, One long...More

Truly one of the best activities in the area! Go early as it gets crowded. Don't worry where you stand in the tram car as it rotates two full times during the trip. If only the crowds would quiet down, as the taped commentary is...More

We visited the tramway for our anniversary and it was so wonderful. It is scary, but the operators warn you of the shakier moments (especially when you go over tower #3). When you get to the top the views and the trails are breathtaking. My...More

Go early! It can get crowded but well worth it. The hike ot the tram could be somewhat difficult for those wiith respiratory problmes.

Fun day on Tramway. Lots to see and do at the top. Wear a sweater! Much cooler than the Palm Springs desert floor.

We travelled to Palm Springs during one of California's hottest months, so instead of hiking as planned, we looked for activities that would give us a break from the 46C/115F degree temperatures. The Aerial Tramway was one of those options and while it's a bit...More

This is a great day trip - the trams are spacious and have a revolving floor, so that you get a 360* view on your ride and don't have to keep moving around the tram car. You'll get a chance to pick up a souvenir...More

I think the previous answers will be very helpful for you. Check the website. I recommend if you're not hiking to go later in the afternoon to see the view going up, then come down at dusk to see the lights of the city.

You will still have a good view of the mountain you are ascending. You may not be able to see far into the valley. It is an experience in anyway.
