They have special exhibits for extended peiods of time and a regular sampling of different art styles, i.e. Western paintings, Indian pottery, etc. Free on Thursday afternoons 4 - 7 PM. Nice gift shop and all of the volunteers are very helpful and friendly. I will go back again. Worth the trip.

I didn't have time to actually visit the museum's exhibits and do justice to them, but I did want to at least walk in to this gorgeous building. It was a breath of fresh air from some of the usual Palm Springs architecture. I browsed through the gift shop which was well worth a visit on it's own. There was... More

I had put off going to this museum as I had heard it was a modern art museum and I am generally not a fan of that genre. We were surprised what a diverse collection there was. Western art, Native American art, glass art and a larger collection of modern with some interesting and appealing pieces. Don't miss seeing the... More

Wonderful contemporary collection thanks to the generous donations of the MacMillan family. Eclectic tast will challenge even the most experienced viewer. They also have a fine sample of glass and Western art. A charming venue.

The Palm Springs Art Museum will surprise you; the extent and the depth of their collection is extraordinary. I was unaware of their 80-year history, so I was unprepared for the vast collection of fine art. My wife and I especially enjoyed the glass artwork on the Mezzanine floor, but there are numerous "hidden gems" around every corner. Recommended.

This is a great museum. Free on Thursday. Great exhibits, tours, and speakers. Some exhibits are indoors as well as outdoors. Plan 2-3 hours.

Plan to spend at least 2 hours, parking, waiting for shuttle to take you to the ground terminal, buying tickets and then waiting for your time to be called, the pictures being taken as you board the aerial cars, then the time up the mountain, of course time for the beautiful view.

Free and filled with helpful docents, you can learn a great deal about the architecture and art history of the Palm Springs area. It's not overly large and the shows change.
