My wife and I really enjoyed the Living Desert zoo & Gardens. It's a good place to spend the day. You also can see a wide variety of desert plants if you need any landscaping ideas.

I didn't expect to like this place - I mean if you've been to San Diego, most zoos are kind of "meh" in comparison. But this really does what it does right - feature only the desert animals, flora and present a few ways to...More

I went with a group of people who were all adults. There wasn't much to see because of everything hiding or sleeping. No cheetahs, that was a disappointment. Everything was so expensive, especially feeding the giraffes. It was very cool to watch tho.

Extensive facility with lots of interesting plants and animals. Very popular with schools and families with kids. It's expansive enough that you can get away from the crowds when necessary.

This small zoo is the perfect size for a local desert experience. The animals are easily accessible to view for adults, children, and kids in strollers. There are viewing windows for animals and reptiles in cage type enclosures. The merry-go-round is a popular attraction, as...More
