This is a very accessible park. The paths are wide, even, and have gradual grades. For a nominal cost, there is also a tram that goes through the park - you can hop on and off at frequent stops. Our ages ranged from 5 to 69. I'm disabled (58 years old) and had no issues at all getting around. We... More

I came with no expectations and came away with a wonderful experience. This botanical garden and zoo is neatly laid out to enhance the desert experience and provide a natural habitat for the animals, most of which have been rescued and brought back to health. The guides are knowledgeable and eager to provide information on everything the place has to... More

We got here the moment the park opened and stayed till the very end. This place is very big! Our mistake is thinking we could walk the whole park. It got quite warm and 1/2 way through the day, we bought an unlimited shuttle pass. I wished we did that at the very beginning. Because once we boarded the shuttle,... More

Visited the zoo and were very pleased with the exhibits and staff. The grounds were very clean and well maintained. It was especially nice to have volunteers by many of the animals to explain their habitat and how they are doing in the wild. The gardens were beautiful and there were signs by most of the plants to identify by... More

Terrific setting for a variety of desert gardens and a very good Zoo with a nice variety of animals. Regular animal shows throughout the day. Make sure to see the Cheetah Run and the giraffe feeding. Extra charge for tram rides in park. Adult admission is $20, but there are senior discounts and half off if you a member of... More

It's more than a zoo. It's more than a garden. It's more than hiking trails. There is the most fabulous outdoor train set for the kids and trams for those who don't want to walk that much. We started coming here in 1990, and became members. Hint: come early in the day, when they first open, and the desert animals... More

A good perspective of desert wildlife. The birds are amazing. Behind the scenes educational opportunities.

We enjoyed our trip to the Living Desert Zoo immensely. The zoo is nicely laid out with easy walking paths. There's also optional transportation around the zoo for those visitors who have mobility issues which was appreciated greatly by my husband. We especially enjoyed watching the chetahs that were enticed to run by being feed on opposite sides of their... More

We went to the Living Desert mainly because our six year old grandson wanted to see the train exhibit and it is worth seeing. It is complex, huge, well done and great fun. Going during the Christmas holidays, it was enhanced by some holiday extras. We also had a lovely chat with the retired gentleman running it that day. Well... More

We visited in the late afternoon to catch the fantastic light show & soon realized we need to come back early. We had so much fun, just didn't see everything. Definitely going back!!
