Some what off the beaten path, but worth a look. An easy place to spend time looking for used books. The selection runs the gamut from newer to really old. Spend time felazing in a very friendly atmosphere. The staff is especially knowledgeable and helpful.

Bart's is a lovely outdoor bookstore with hundreds of books - a paradise for any book lover. I found so many books for a great second hand price. Definitely worth stopping in to browse while you are in town.

Bart's is an Ojai institution that has continued with generous ownership even as it changed hands. Lots of nooks and crannies with interesting books from modern best sellers to antiquarian art books. There are chairs and tables if you just want to sit and read...More

This open air used book store is a great place to browse and find cheap books. They have seating areas to enjoy a little reading too.

I love books and this has to be the most unusual book store I've ever visited. Zillions of used books: some indoors and some more in the open patios. You can even buy books after hours by leaving your donation on the honor system outside...More

While visiting family in Ventura we took a short side trip to Ojai and discovered Bart's Books. What caught our attention was seeing book cases on the sidewalk . In speaking to the clerk she said they have between 100,000 and 200,000 used and new...More
