We took my 3 & 4 year olds and their 9 year old cousin on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. We were afraid it would be packed and all day passes would be sold out, but we were pleasantly surprised to have no problems! Entry...More
We spent 10 days in California exploring the coast with our family of 4. My 11 year old said the BEST thing we did on vacation was ride the dunes at Oceano! Since we had a rental car we opted not to drive out on...More
This is the only beach in the state of California that literally you can drive down the beach. If your car is 4x4 you can take your own risk of driving to the sand. Instead of doing this we walk like a mile or two...More
Oceano Dunes SVRA offers quite unique opportunity to drive on a beautiful ocean beach. It's recommended for 4WD vehicles but if you watch a bit where you drive there is no risk with a normal car either. We didn't try with our rental Kia minivan...More

I saw plenty of RV's out on the sand. Two of them were stuck...so, sure you can go, just don't get too brave. Also, I noticed that RV's had plywood barricading the sides of the RV's for overnight camping so the sand wouldn't drift around the axles. That would be a REAL problem in the morning.
