Where else can you hop on a Ferry for $1? It takes cars across for about $3 per car. Fun to do on a sunny day!

The Balbia Island Ferry has been running forever. Each Ferry holds three cars and probably 50 people. The trip from Newport Beach to Balbia Island or vice versa takes about 5 minutes and costs $1 per person, and $1 for the car. Balbia Island is full of great beach house and some trendy shops so taking the Ferry to just... More

I visited there many many times from May 2008 to Jun 2011; lots of tourists go there to see the beautiful serene sea; it feels very cool at night) You can see so many docks and boats there, smell the cool sea breeze while looking at the sunrise or sunset! Certainly something amazing to be. Then this ferry will take... More

Easy to use and affordable too. Highly recommend and the only way to get from one side of island to the other without driving a long way around.

My husband loves this little ferry so much we always take it when down here for business or pleasure. It takes only a few minutes and the staff are always super friendly. Two people and one car is a $3 fee. If there is traffic on PCH it can save you time.

The kids loved the 5 minute ferry ride. Its a very touristy thing to do. Worth the $4 The little town on Balboa Island is almost like a fairy tail. Its definitely worth the trip.

Drive your car right onto the ferry or ride as a pedestrian. Bargain fares of $1 per person and $2 per car. Great way to get from Newport to Balboa Island

Not sure if it's an attraction to use a ferry - but worked fine...did not get wet feed and saved 20km by car...important - there are 3 ferries rotating- so really quickly to get to or from Balboa

Came here on a bike and wanted to cross from Balboa Island to Balboa Peninsula. Almost instantly and for $1.25, it was accomplished. We need more ferries and fewer bridges.
