Always easy to cross and fun, inexpensive and great to get to Newport Coastal Adventures. Only 3-4 cars per ferry, or just walk on!

My husband and I decided to take the ferry over to Balboa Island. They only allow 3 cars at a time but there were only 2 cars waiting when we pulled up. They also take pedestrians and bikes as well. We pulled into line then waited for the three cars to get off the small ferry, then the three cars... More

This only lasts a few minutes. Very well organized. Quick on and quick off. It was fun to take the car on the ferry and ride it across-rare opportunity. We would do again. Just remember it is only a few minutes.

Fun and cut a lot of drive time off. And really, with only three cars at a time the line moved very quickly. Fun!

Delightful, fun, old fashioned short ferry ride. It's really worth it. So inexpensive too. Get a famous Frozen Banana and head to the ferry. Get the best view of Balboa island along the way. Fun for families too, and romantic for date afternoon.

Very convenient to travel from the island and back whenever you need, by foot, bike, or car. Quite inexpensive.

I have lived here all my life... well... almost! :-) and we still from time to time take the ferry across the bay for the simple pleasure of it. I'm not sure how old it is, but remember as a little 5 year old taking the ferry with my parents and watching the boats go right by me. The gentle... More

Leave your car and ride the ferry! We had a great walk along the bay to the Main Street. Fun looking at how the other lives.
