Recently went on the Freelance. Caught a few fish. But the captain kept taking us to spots where nobody was catching fish. Then when we were catching fish, captain stopped and took us back to dock. Poor numbers that day.

We didn't see too much on our evening boat ride except for a seal ripping apart and eating a small shark. The boat can make you a bit seasick. Obviously there's no guarantee you'll see anything. I think for us we were hoping the boat ride itself would be more enjoyable.

We booked a trip in weather that was overcast. But instead of informing us at the time that it would be difficult to spot any whales or dolphins, they booked our trip anyway. As soon as we board the boat, the captain gives an awkward and unclear speech about how terrible the weather and water conditions are, that the wind... More

We paid 47 dollars for the cruise only to he canceled by the crew due to high winds. Best part of it was the fact we didn't get our money refunded, they gave us a credit instead. What good is a credit when you live in Chicago? Learn how to run your business better and take responsibilities for your actions... More

Amazing value boat trip. The boat itself has plenty of seating, sells drinks and snacks and has a restroom. The tour is operated by a crew who clearly love and respect marine life. They were at pains to ensure that they followed whales and never stressed them by getting in their path. The commentator seemed genuinely moved by the sight... More

We had a great time. Captain and crew were amazing. My sister was on crutches and crew was so helpful. Great trip, we saw grey whales. The photographer, Chelsea Mayer, took some wonderful memories.

Fun for the whole family. Found a groupon and made it totally worth it. They offer beverages and even alcohol on the boat. The crew is extremely nice and are very well accomodating. They want to make sure you see Whales and are safe, both their priorities. Be sure to take some sea sick medicine before hand.

We found a Groupon that made the price of this activity seem almost too good to be true! Nevertheless, we booked the trip and were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. There were two boats, and we were assigned the smaller one. There wasn't much seating, so we just stood at the bow (which got tiring after 2... More

Went whale watching and it was amazing. Saw 4 gray whales. 2 moms and 2 calves! It was a sight to be seen! Didn't see anything else but a sea lion but worth it. Also got $14 coupon from airport which saved $24 per person. Nice & educated crew too!!

This was a decent tour. If you are prone to getting sea sick I advise that you go in the morning. It can get windy and choppy in the afternoon. The crew was fairly good with the exception of Dale the photographer/stair Nazi. He was quite rude to several customers who were using the stairs between the two decks. He... More
