Very cool old building with some great history. I’ve been here a few times for movies or plays. I always enjoy the place. Not a streamlined modern place but it has character! In the heart of historic downtown Nevada City.

The theater, although the building is old and very historic, has freshly carpeted aisles, comfortable seats, an accessible restroom, and good vibes. Every seat is a good one in this intimate hall. Local production companies keep the theater busy continuously. Always something interesting happening at...More

This show was Amazing! Sue was fabulous as Janis and the band was superb! Being from the San Francisco area in the 60's, this performance was reminiscent of Bill Graham productions of that time. Staff at theatre were great and purchasing the tickets was a...More

Play at The Nevada Theater are always a treat. It is a great venue. You can get seats in the front row if you plan ahead! I recently saw Chicago there and it was the best! I always recommend it!

This historic theater is used for live plays, such as "The White Snake" by CATS, Community Asian Theater of the Sierras, which I saw in April. It is also used for concerts, movies, celebrations of life, and public meetings. It is not too big, even...More

We live locally. This is a historic theater that has been in operation since the mid 1800's, but it has been restored. The seating is quite comfortable, with the space between rows larger than found in most Broadway theaters. Several theater groups perform here, and...More
