The Centennial Parkway is a small little park with a couple of benches, and a large Chessboard, and right across from the Public Bathrooms. If you are be-bopping around the waterfront area, and want to rest a spell, or people watch for a few minutes,...More

A nice little addition and public attraction but not so much of interest for visitors looking for views, activities, scenery, memories, or keeping the kids amused. We found that watching the local wildlife was much more enjoyable but, then again, this offers another option for...More

The stairway to Centennial Parkway offers nice views of Morro Bay as well as the giant Chessboard below! Plenty of seating to sit and watch players in action or catch a game to play yourself. Public restrooms are close and right on the Embarcadero.

They have a giant chess board and several areas to just sit and take in the salty air. Fun to people watch here as well!

This little spot on Morro Bay's Embarcadero is perfect to break up the day - especially for the men and kids. It's. Giant chess game... prefect for teaching a child the rules of the game. The city does a good job of keeping things clean...More

The tourists strip is unremarkable, and could pass for any other. I had hoped to see this chess set, which in my imagination would be an exceptional thing. Turns out it is only "happening" on one of the weekend days. Without the game in progress,...More

We walked from the Coast Guard Station to the South End of the Parkway and it is jammed with Tourist attractions from Clothing to Candy to Surf boards and everything in Between. Also a fun people watching area.
