A real treasure

Quite the catch of California, I love the windswept and arid climate of this park. So many great views to see. I found more pictures here... read more

The park is out in the boonies, about 12-14 miles from the Highway. But that has some advantages- if one wants solitude, the park is very quiet. At least, it was really quiet the day I visited. The two unexpected surprises both relate to night time. 1. The stars are really bright and really nice to gaze at with no... More

Henry Coe has so many options for biking, hiking, horse riding and walking that you will never be bored. Pack your gear and lots of water as it can get really hot out here and take a hike. I have seen every sort of wildlife out here including bobcats, coyote, king snakes, rattlers and the tail of an elusive mountain... More

HW Coe is the second largest state park in California. over 80,000 acres! It's huge! You can walk anywhere in the park and sometimes go for a week without seeing any other human. Only serious outdoor people use the back country. The headquarters, Hunting Hollow and Hwy 152 entrances are the only areas accessible to vehicles and are fine for... More

This is a great place to spend the day in nature. Beautiful oak trees and well maintained trails with good information about length and difficulty, etc. Quite a lot of wildlife as well, especially you are their very early in the day.

Vast area, incredible views, the California you imagine of 100 years ago. Tremendous venue for cross-country, downhill and climbing on single and double track trails.

Largest state park in nortjen california. Lots of trails and plenty of information about the length and difficulty of the trails. Camping and biking too. Great little ranger station with history about the park and goodies for sale. Rangers were all extremely helpful. Loads of wildflowers and beauridul oaks. Benches along the way for resting too. Some entrances are closed... More

We have enjoyed going to Henry W. Coe State Park a number of times for both hiking and picnics. Its in the hills and in the spring the wild flowers are out. The park was once a ranch of Henry W. Coe and family. There is more than 89,000 acres to explore at this state park. The vista views are... More

Park: The trails in this park were absouletly stunning in April 2015. So many wild flowers in bloom. Access: It is a winding 13mile road access, which is beautiful and full of wildlife. Might be challenging for an inexperienced/nervous driver. Just take it slow and enjoy the drive. Rangers: The rangers absolutely wonderful at helping us when we realised that... More

It's a great park for hiking with family and friends, or even if you want to camp and try harder trails. You'll be surrounded by nature, from amazing birds, trees filed with acorn from woodpeckers to deer and squirrels. Great views, a great way to go out and enjoy the nature without traveling to far away from the city.
