Great movie. Most of the film's that we see, we see at this theater. It's Modesto's "art" house for serious American and international films.

This is a beautiful theatre! The decor, the stage, sound and lighting was great. The seats were ok, but could be uncomfortable if sitting for long periods of time. Overall great experience.

This art house theater also shows some current films and occasionally a vintage film. The schedule is on line or a printed version is available at the theater. In addition to cocktails, they have wine and quite an assortment of food, and their popcorn has...More

The State Theater in Modesto is from the days of Art Deco when design mattered inside on the walls of a dark movie theater. It's got the usual movie seats, and best of all, it's got the films you can only see in independent movie...More

This was our first time at this theatre. It was very relaxing and enjoyable experience,. They have very good food and wonderful wine. The movies are usually classics and are a delight to see.

I love this theater! A great showing of movies that some larger theatres don't show, and A variety that appeals to everyone at some time. Friendly and accommodating staff, nice selection of food and snacks available, along with beverages.

Great, silly, cosmopolitan events to an area that needs a little color once in awhile. From Prince Night to Bastille Crepe Celebration down to Spaghetti Western with spaghetti and a movie I appreciate all the great work they do.

This is a charming, clean, comfortable, little theatre from long ago that has been thoroughly restored and finally has a good sound system. Personally, I wish a larger theatre in this area had been saved, like the Strand in Modesto, the Alhambra in Sacramento, The...More
