Great affordable place to ride & learn

I've brought my daughters (ages 12 & 10) for lessons & trail rides. Both were very enjoyable. The teachers are delightful & really work with the kids at their level.

Take your business elsewhere. The place seems charming on the outside, but there are so many issues, where do I start.... Mostly the condition of the horses. 2 or 3 times my horse was injured and I was not told until AFTER I paid and mounted for my lesson. Once he had injured his EYE...I was riding a popeyed horse... We discovered this ranch when my daughter's Girl Scouts troop came here for a morning of riding. My animal-loving daughter loved riding on Peaches in the covered corral. I noticed they offered weeklong camps and since I needed to put her somewhere for a week in June I signed her up. She spent her days grooming the horses, leading &... More

Molly has taken me out a few times now and it is so wonderful! The trails are great, horses all comfortable but have spirit, and I fully enjoy my rides!

Took my older kids there to celebrate their first day of summer break. This was their first time on horses...only my daughter had been on one, one time..she was told by her guide that that didn't count. I agree, but just funny how it was said. My other 2, this was their first time. A lesson on how to control... More

This is a great place for the beginner rider. Lessons on Western horseback riding from Fiona, who is absolutely wonderful to work with. Highly recommend this place for riding lessons, trail rides and all things horses :)

A bustling place. Seems a bit disorganized, but people are friendly and horses are well behaved. The ride was amazing on nice trails.

Awesome environment. Rain made the trail wet, but the staff was willing to do lessons instead, and that might have been even better. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. They teach very well and very fun! Can't recommend more!

Chaparral Ranch is a beautiful, relaxed place to ride. The scenery is beautiful and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Their American Quarterhorses are well trained, happy horses--easy to ride. Shawn Mott, the owner, is a true California cowboy!
