Everyone visiting Yosemite and Mariposa CA should stop and visit. It’s inexpensive and very interesting and educational. Parking is free, easy to find and there are clean public bathrooms.

An interesting spot surrounded by aging machinery used during the gold rush - if you want to know how gold was mined and processed and touch some of the machinery used to do so no further, an interesting spot in this butterfly of a town.

If you wanna find out about the gold rush history and mining era of Mariposa & California you should definately pay this museum a visit. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I came to Mariposa during the wildfires so the Yosemite Park was closed....More
