About
Featured in everything from a Beach Boys album cover to the 2015 'SpongeBob' movie, this beach is a Malibu hot spot known for its cinematic views. Jump into the water for some surfing, relax on the wide, sandy coastline, or take a romantic stroll along the pier, where Robert Redford and Demi Moore reconciled in 1993’s 'Indecent Proposal'. Paradise Cove isn’t the most accessible, but the public beach can get fairly crowded. You can rent a chaise lounge or palapa and dine with your feet in the sand at the Paradise Cove Beach Café, with friendly seagulls for company. – Tripadvisor

The area

Neighbourhood: Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.

A great restaurant with good food, good service, and nice views. However, they add a 5% SURCHARGE to every bill. Like most people I hate this. If they want more money, they should just raise their prices. I would have no problem if they raised their prices 5%. I just don't like surcharges for ANY reason. Charge what you need to charge. Better restaurants NEVER have sir charges, including surcharges for credit cards.
I have no problem with the parking fees.

The parking cost here is very expensive and the staff were not very friendly.
Would never go there again.
You have to spend a certain sum on food in the restaurant but this is not clear until you go to leave.

Very expensive parking. Not visitor friendly. It seems the the Paradise Cove Cafe wants visitors to spend money. I would have gone to the cafe for a snack, they didn’t need to charge 45$ US for parking. We pulled a u-turn and left. Area is obviously privately owned by the cafe. We went to the next public beach a few feet away and parking was free.

The environment is lovely. Quaint, reminiscent of Malibu back in the day. The restaurant, however, was awful. We were eyed up and down upon arrival and informed “you know, you need to order food”. we were well aware, as it was well indicated before entering. We were put at a table behind shrubs with poor ocean view and when food was delivered it was actually slid on the table and the server walk away with out a word. A beautifully dressed couple was seated next to us at a table that apparently was “for a large party”, right after we sat down. You know, you really can’t judge a book…..mistake, big mistake!! If only they knew. Honestly, I don’t write reviews unless they are good ones. This was such a bad experience I thought you should be forewarned. A pricey stop is no problem when it’s charming and friendly. This is a no friends zone. So disappointing. P.S. Food mediocre. And I didn’t even mention the bathroom…..

Filthy. I used to like coming here but the quality of food and cleanliness has gone down. This place makes a ton of money and is a tourist spot, why not maintain it? Wash your booths, they feel like you’re going to get a disease from sitting there. Train your employees to be more hospitable, our waiter took long to take our drink order, then disappeared throughout the meal leaving our drinks empty. If your paying a higher price, the expectation is that the quality of service should match. Also don’t order the bread appetizer, the knife wouldn’t even go through it, it was hard as a rock.

This place is not worth the stop. Getting the table for dinner was a battle, we waited for an hour and twice we were put off saying the reservation was cancelled.
The place not very clean and the food very poor quality and badly presented. Needless to say, it is very expensive in proportion to what you eat.
The only justification for seeing this place: to breathe some of the air of 1950s Hollywood stars.
Finally, watch out for the parking trap: the beach as well the whole area is private and to access it you pay a bang for parking for your car plus all the services you take.

We spent some time here recently with family. A beautiful location and the beach was just mesmerising. The jetty, what is there, is also enchanting especially when the bigger surf rolls in

As the title to my review states, do not park in the lot at the beach unless you plan to eat at the restaurant. If you don’t eat there, it is either $45 or $65 depending on if it is a weekday or a weekend. Park up on PCH, either side, and walk down the short hill to the beach. I saw several people back out of the parking lane to turn around and go back up to PCH, because of the price. The beach itself is really nice. There are lots of seagulls (because of the food) and other birds to be seen along the beach. I also saw a lot of mussels washed up on shore. I walked down the beach all the way to Little Dume and around the point to Dume Beach in about thirty minutes. It was a nice walk and there were a few other people walking up and down like me. I do ask one thing, if you see trash along the beach, pick it up. I picked up a couple plastic bottles. Try the keep the beach nice for other people to enjoy.

So we went to go have breaksfast at this spot. We have been before. It's the off season, winter temps and the parking guy says we can't let you park with dogs as we have had to smash windows in for over heating dogs! 😳 Seriously it is freaking winter we have come from Canada in our 22 ft rv, the parking was empty, it was cold outside. Called the restaurant to complain and they don't control the parking lot. Won't go back!

Terrible. Good was cold and overly salty. Cheesy entertainment. Watered down sugary drinks! Save your $150 and go somewhere else!
