About
In the heart of the Canadian Rockies, less than an hour’s drive from either Calgary or Banff, visitors find a golfing paradise. Kananaskis Country Golf Course is one of the premier golf destinations in the Canadian Rockies and second to none as a spectacular location for a golf vacation. Forming an unforgettable landscape, the rugged surrounding mountains tower 10,000 feet (3,000 metres) above sea level, the courses themselves are at almost 5,000 feet (1,500 metres). Situated in the Kananaskis Valley among boreal forest, the Mount Lorette and Mount Kidd Courses are named for the soaring limestone peaks that serve as their breathtaking backdrop. The Courses offer immaculate lush fairways, bent grass greens, over 140 silica sand bunkers, four sets of tee boxes, glacier fed creeks and ponds, the cascading Kananaskis River and a variety of wildlife.

Their 72 / 24 hour refund policy are horrible especially when you need to drive a few hours to get there and there and there being many unforeseen circumstances that can occur, ie weather, accident , illness etc…. There is no empathy with the booking desk, they don’t even ask why you are cancelling .. and the t-time has a very good chance to get re- booked again , total money grab here. I won't be golfing there any longer just for that reason, it is a beautiful course but not worth the financial risk, that’s my opinion !

I'll stick to courses with a fair 24 hr policy..

Golf course was in good shape, staff are pleasant even though they are inexperienced.

The Food & Beverage Manager should be fired allowing the terrible sandwiches I had. They were no larger than a dinner roll with one layer of processed meat, no cheese (too expensive) for $8.00. I had to order 2 so $16.00 for 2 dinner rolls with barely anything inside. Not kidding, look at the picture...not much bigger than my thumb.

4 beers and 2 dinner rolls for $72.00 including my tip of 20% for the staff who seemed embarrassed to hand me the food.

Step up Kananaskis, you should know better by now.

Save your money, go for a hike to enjoy the views. When we arrived we notified bag check staff this was our first time (no directional info provided), after we unloaded our own bags we found our way to parking lot, and then pro shop. The staff in the pro shop were condescending and rude, like they are doing us a favor to check in. Then outside to pickup the cart; it seemed like organized chaos ... several workers running around doing seemingly nothing, or not knowing what to do. Finally got the cart. Golf course is a very flat, relatively open course, I have played much better. The best thing were the mountain and nature views. Golf was just ok
Next time I will save my money and just go for a hike to enjoy the views.

You probably won’t find a better course for the money anywhere. Views are spectacular and we saw three adult bears and two cubs. Course is challenging but fair. Make sure if you are planning a trip to book when booking open up in March because the entire season opens up for booking. Also it gets cold when sun goes below mountains it was 25 c when we started and 12c when we came in. Two complaints. Two groups in front of us combined and we’re playing as an eight and were really slow. I didn’t see a course marshal the entire time to address and our round was just under 5 hours. Second the sandwiches at the halfway house looked like they were made by a 5 year old and were paper thin and $10! We had a good laugh about it though. If you go you won’t regret it.

Incredible experience to play this golf course. The views and course are fantastic and truly a highlight of my trip to Banff area. Playing in mid august was spectacular and wish I could get one of the Kananaskis sweaters the K team was rocking 😎

This is one of the best courses in Alberta for playable, cost, condition. The staff is awesome and so friendly. The hot dogs are unreal as well lol. We played Kidd this time and the course ate me up but who cares you are in the mountains. If you don’t play theses courses you are missing out.

Thank you SO MUCH for the very kind words about our team, our hot dogs, and this very special place! No greater gift from someone than to give of their time and we can't thank you enough for spending time with all of us! Hope you enjoy the rest of the summer!

Played during mid week as a solo. Booked through their web site .
The golf club has two tracks I played mount llorette.
Probably 5 tee boxes for every skill level.
The course was in great shape staff were great the starter was amazing and enjoyed his job!! Even came out and checked on how we were enjoying the course!!! When does that ever happen? Fantastic!!
The backdrop of the mountains and the river was unreal! Great round played with two buddies on an annual golf trip from Edmonton.
Green fees were reasonable.
Only complaint was the food both in morning and at turn was stale.
So bring ur own snacks!

Fabulous view; tasteful, lovely decor; wonderful food. Wait staff are young, relaxed, welcoming, friendly and competent. Husband loved his beef dip—very fresh roll; shaved, tender beef; delicious jus. My lentil soup was flavourful, and garnished with a small heap of several fresh, succulent veggies. Desserts were small—the perfect size for dessert, IMHO. Hubby enjoyed his cheesecake, and the creme brûlée had me dissolving into bliss. We are so glad we stopped here for lunch, on our road trip through the Rockies!

Have played both mount Kidd and Mount Laurette. If you are looking for trees and elevation changes, Mt Kidd is amazing. If you are looking for a more forgiving layout, flatter, and unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains, Laurette is your course.

Played both courses, Lorette one afternoon, and Kidd the next morning. Congratulations to all that were responsible for getting these courses opened again after the tragic flooding. Both were in excellent condition, greens were superb, staff were attentive and well organized. Beautiful facility overall. Panoramic views. Super value.
