The beautiful American River is the site of California's 1849 Gold rush and now is the most popular whitewater rafting river in the Western US... let us show you why! One of the few rivers in California to have adequate water flows year round for rafting, The South Fork of the American River is a wonderfully fun guided rafting adventure for first timers, families and groups. The class 3 rapids are perfect for all types of participants, lots of action but not too intense for novices. Half, one and two day trips are available.

Good for day trippers, no need experience for rafting. There are areas in the river where it gets class 3 rapids but the crew is well experienced in handling and directing us to manage the raft. It was a whole day excursion we started at 0800 for a short briefing and off until we reach our destination which is past... More

I took 13 of us from our church youth group rafting on South Fork of American River. The children LOVED it so much, they want to raft the Middle Fork next. The guides were excellent. Safe, fun and knowledgable. I would go with this outfit again. They put out a great fresh spread for lunch for us mid way along... More

Fabulous white water rafting down Southfork of American River. Our guide Wiggy was excellent and gave some historical facts about The Chile bar area in Placerville.

Such a great trip. We had a large group who stayed two nights and rafted all day Saturday. Guides were knowledgeable, hilarious, and encouraging. Facilities are great.

For some reason, I did not have high expectations for the trip and stay. Boy, was I wrong! As someone who just turned 50, I don't think I've squealed and laughed that much in ages. It is a perfect trip for family and friends and you feel great at the end of the weekend. Our river guide Chris was awesome.

I was very impressed with the mix of fun and professionalism that they brought. The camping was great, the rafting was amazing, and the dinner after was spectacular. We will definitely be returning!

I was pretty nervous my first time white water rafting but our guide was fantastic. She made me feel perfectly at east and I discovered I not only didn't need to be nervous but that I love white water rafting! I can't wait to do it again. :-)

Amazing guides, food and fun! Laughed, fell in the river, swam and fell back in love with nature. What more could you want?!?

Mike and Scott do a great job with entire experience. Over the past 6 years, we've done the South Fork upper and lower (and together) many times. they always deliver an amazing experience. Lunch is simple but excellent - especially after 2-3h of effort. They allow/encourage jumping in the water (in the right places), which I recommend, especially *after lunch*,... More
