Neighbourhood: Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.

It is part of Venice Beach and its walkway. It is very interesting to watch quite professional skate guys. It is often crowded by watchers.

The Venice skatepark is super cool. Even if you've never been on a skateboard and have no desire to be on one you will love watching the talented kids and young adults skate their hearts out.

The skatepark is set up for all types of skateboarding, including tricks and fast skating.

It is just a super fun thing to see and even though I have not been a skateboard in 30 years it sure was fun.

Watching skilled skateboarders strut their stuff at the home of skateboarding was a highlight of a Venice Beach stroll on a hot sunday afternoon. The live rock accompaniment fitted the bill perfectly.

Passing through the area and really wanted to see this, so glad we did. Lots of talent on show, with skate boards and roller blades.

A great landmark unfortunately the place was closed for filming so it was not in use but maybe without anyone you enjoy more the architecture and the stone/cement/material of the construction: shining grey lunar landscape.
Very worth the walk

This is an interesting place to visit. If you’re lucky you might see really awesome people practicing. If you’re not interested in skateboarding at all this is not a place to visit.

The place to watch skate boarders. If you like that, you can spend hours in this place! Wish I could skateboard as well, lol.

A real cool place to watch some seriously skilled boarders. Backdrop of the beach makes it visually awesome too.

This is very neat to see the various people on the skatepark, and to watch all of the goings on here.
