I always ask visitors to LA who mention that they went to Venice if they visited the canals as well. Most often the person looks at me like I'm crazy and says that no he had no idea there was more to Venice than the...More

Interesting to know the canals here but not what we thought. I enjoyed looking up the history of the canals and the fact that the city was named after Italy's Venice and had actual canals was lost on me. I had wondered why I had...More

I sorta fell into these walkways during a morning run. They are actually sidewalks that surround people's homes.. very lovely and a cool little spot of Venice. I was happy to see them, but I would not have wanted to make a special trip to...More

Enjoyed the canal walk with my son. A sort of oasis in the middle of the city. Seeing the variety of homes, the vegetation, the quiet, all was wonderful. Would recommend this walk.

I love walking through here during the day or at night. Seeing all the little boats and the feel of it is amazing. Such a gem in this city!

If you're visiting L.A., take a trip down to Venice. It off the main stretch of Venice beach and its extremely exclusive. You can imagine only the wealthy live in this part of town. All the houses are different, their garden's lead down to the...More

A truly lovely area to visit about a block from the seediness of Venice Beach. Hard to believe people know Venice by the beach when it is in fact the canals that make this place worth a walk. The small house and humped bridges ad...More

You can spend the morning by walking around this quarter. Canals are not so impressive but the view of some houses makes a beautiful postcard.

Venice has always danced to its own beat as the
epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along

visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting
enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders
