First night in LA (August 2013) and the $10 improv comedy was able to help me get through my jet lag. Very high quality humor and walking distance from Hollywood.

I've been going to shows at the UCB for years. There are some off the wall shows and people still honing their skills during the week, but if you go to any of the hugely popular shows, you'll be amazed at how skilled and hilarious...More

We watched ASSSSCAT and it was awesome! I have seen a few improv shows in the past, but these players were really funny. I recommend getting there early and sitting in the center for a better view of the players. My biggest gripes: It was...More

My husband and I went to the UCB during our stay in Los Angeles for a few nights not expecting much. The reviews are amazing, but as with any comedy club, we were expecting a couple laughs here and there, but the UCB was different...More

UCB is legendary in Hollywood for launching careers of writers, and comedic performers. If you want to experience sketch comedy like a local in Hollywood, skip the others and check out UCB. It's a smaller venue, but tickets are generally available online, and it's a...More

Cheap & fun. The show was in 2 parts. We enjoyed the 1st part best which had 6 players doing a variety of sketches, the 2nd part was not so great due to gross factor. But they are all working out ideas so it was...More

For the price($5) this is the place to go. Went twice and saw different comedians each time. Very small theater which makes it even more fun. Bring in your own beverages.

The UCB has been open long enough that it's become a legitimate institution, which is always a dangerous place for an edgy and independent fringe theater to evolve into. It's discouraging to see genuniely unfunny actors desperately trying to get cast in Judd Apatow productions...More

It depends on the show. Some of the UCB shows like Asssscat, sell out weeks in advance but most you can buy before the show. That said, personally, I would recommend ordering them online before the actual date of the show.
