Murders, Deaths, Scandals and fun things happened all over Los Angeles. But it's light hearted. Promise.

Dearly Departed Tours is a 3 hour tour of the Deathstyles of the Rich and Famous. Legends from Mae West and Bela Lugosi, to Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. With a side of Hugh Grant and Chris Brown and Rihanna thrown in for good measure.

"Creepy, Hilarious, but not for kids or the prissy." - Lonely Planet

American Horror Story based their "Eternal Darkness Tour" on us and we've been featured in Anthony Bourdain's The Layover, E! 20 Most Horrifying Hollywood Murders and The Girls Next Door. Hundreds of unedited positive reviews online, Tripatini, Yelp, Yahoo Travel and Tripadvisor.

I'll start by saying this was a Mother's Day outing so we had some high expectations, especially after reading reviews. Although we didn't go to many of the places listed as tour stops, which was very disappointing, I still think that this would have been really great with a different tour guide. I think our guide's name was Robert or... More

We went on this tour during a recent trip to LA and our host was incredible! He was so knowledgable about the area and the people that lived (and died) there! The only improvement I could think of was having more stops along the trip. I would have loved to have gotten out at ge Viper Room to take a... More

Took the Helter Skelter Tour which had been on my bucket list for years. I found it better than I had hoped. Our tour guide was Scott; he produced the movie Six Degrees of Helter Skelter. I am a true crime nerd and have seen the movie and read books about it. But Scott has an encyclopedic knowledge of the... More

My wife did this tour the other day and loved it. She said it was the highlight of our time in Hollywood. Easy to walk to from Hollywood Blvd. She'd been wanting to do it since her last trip to Hollywood a few years ago and was not disappointed. She was very impressed with her guide who presented the tour... More

My father was an undertaker so this tour was right up my alley! My one regret was not writing down who we visited. My memory, I guess is not as good as I thought. Thanks for the fun! And remember when you mix up the letters in funeral you get. "Real Fun"

Great tour. Could have a little more upto date deaths. The majority of the attendees were under the age of 35 so some of the older celebrity stories seemed outdated. Overall we loved it and our host was funny and engaging and very knowledgeable with questions we had. We would recommend this tour to anyone!

We were absolutely delighted with the Dearly Departed tour. We did it on our first day in town and it was a brilliant way of orienting ourselves in the city and having some great laughs along the way. Richard our driver was brilliant! Fun, friendly and super knowledgeable. Loads of facts and bits of trivia thrown in. Highly recommended!

I live in Los Angeles and have gone on this tour six times over the years with different people from out of town. They've never let me down. Informative, interesting and fun. I find myself quoting parts of the tour when just driving around town with people. Highly recommend.

The tour guide is very knowledgeable about older Hollywood history and for me it was great because I knew of most of the people he was talking about. But the younger person with me stayed lost all day. Needs to update material some for the younger people.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
