Very dirty to the point it smelled like urine everywhere. People sleeping all along the sidewalk, and if they are not sleeping they are begging for money. Harassed the entire time to buy cd's or bus trips. Parking was $30. All we saw was overpriced...More

Never enjoyed the hassle of an overcrowded sidewalk. All the fuss about celebrities is not my thing. A couple of decent restaurants in the mall help breakwaway from the chaos.

First, for the uninitiated, Hollywood is NOT Beverly Hills. Don't expect glitz, glamour and ritzy stores and stars walking all over the place. Hollywood lost it's glam in the 40's and has not recovered since. Expect tourist traps and seedy stores. However, Hollywood DOES have...More

Busy street, lots os people looking at the floor, taking pictures. For sure the place that everyone wants to visit. Just imagine the street closed and all the artist and characters of the movie industries walking on the red carpet to Dolby Theatre. Need more...More

I was totally disillusioned after my visit. We visited on a Sunday afternoon the boulevard had a certain aroma of weed and urine . Homeless people abounded. The streets were filthy, the inlaid stars on the pavement were cracked or dirty . The shops were...More

Hollywood Boulevard is a bit grotty and tacky, truth be told, but we still really enjoyed the walk of stars, looking for some favourites and enjoying the razzmatazz of it all. It's kinda cool to be in Hollywood, the centre of the movie world, but...More

One needs to visit Hollywood Boulevard if in Hollywood. It ticks off another bucket list item. Hollywood Boulevard is famous for Walk of Fame but along here you will find the cd scammers , beggars etc. The Walk of Fame brass stars in the sidewalks...More

The area—obviously—is very touristy and gimmicky, but it’s still worth a visit. It’s also easily accessible by public transport (red Metro line). If you manage to escape all of the people trying to sell you some kind of tour tickets, those giving out (read: they’re...More

How could you come to LA and not visit Hollywood Boulevard? Though don't expect to come here and see all your favourite stars; except the one's on the boulevard itself. The area is generally made up of tourists, gift shops, tattooists, smoke shops, and porn...More

Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie
stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day,
tourists flock here from around the world to see the
iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to
catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close.
Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas
the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and
hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night

It depends on your budget and what you wish to do. Downtown has some great Classic hotels abs the area around hollywood has some well known places. I have stayed in both areas as well as near a few beach cities. I would... More

I agree with most here. Depending on your budget, better to find a nicer area to stay and visit H Boulevard during the day and early evening. There's a bit to see there, but mostly quite tacky, depends what you are into of... More
