We went there from Goreme in a rental car.
It was far but worth it!!
We got there at the right time and enjoyed the beautiful mirror-like scenery.
Sandals are a must.
When taking a photo of yourself, try not to move your feet and wait to avoid making waves, otherwise you will get a good photo. If you walk with waves, people around you will look annoyed.
Also, I think the photo will be better if there are clouds.
When you enter the lake, your feet will be covered in salt. There is a place to wash your feet for 10 lira.
Toilets were also 10 lira.

Lske Tuz~ is the second largest lake in Türkiye!
Rainwater brings out the salt rich in the rock formation area,
Accumulated on the sea surface to form a vast snow-white seascape
It is one of the special scenery in Türkiye~~
It's quite a distance to the sea and you have to go through the sales center
As a result, all kinds of salt products were enthusiastically promoted~~
The vast white seascape is beautiful and sparkles in the sun~~

The view wasn't bad. Of course, if I came in the autumn, I could get more beautiful views. There was no water, just a layer of white salt as far as the eye could see. There was a business, but the toilets and food were bad.

This is a huge lake with 1,665 ㎦ area. In October when I visited, there's almost no rain and it looked like a desert.
- The admission is free.
- It'll be much better after rain because the ground reflects in the picture.
- There's almost no water on the surface. But, if you dig a little bit, you can find out it's a lake inside.
- Most people don't move far from the entrance. If you prepare plenty of water and go further than 5 km, you'll experience a fantastic moment with nothing else.
How to get there:
There's one regular bus from Ankara to Tuz Gölü operated by Tuz Gölü Seyehat.
From Aşti otogar (bus terminal), there's a bus almost every hour between 07:30 and 18:30. The destination is Şereflikoçhisar which is close to Tuz Gölü. If you ask the bus attendant for Tuz Gölü, the bus will let you get off at Tuzgölü Restoran that is the northern entrance of Tuz Gölü. It takes 100 ~ 120 min.
When you come back to Ankara, wait for the bus across the highway in front of the motel.

Looking at the beautiful photos from Tripadvisor given me a sense of wonders of nature and the difference between seasons. When I got there in December, there's nothing to see, nothing to do and there is nothing but strong winds and mud. So if you decide to take a stop there, do it in the summer and avoid winter.

Guess the lakes are dried up ....We walked quite far out but it was too hot so halfway we just started digging and create some leg salt massage ourselves. Quite enjoyable though.
I guess there are other spots which if you self drive, you can drive to it. This is the tourist spot so I guess we have no choice.

On our way to Cappadocia we stopped at Lake Tuz. It's free of charge and you can take a break from traveling while soaking your feet in salt. The lake is endless and it's quite the amazing experience and also very good for your skin.

On a bus from Ankara's airport to Cappadocia... we stopped by Tuz Golu. It was a surprise that was not on my to do list. It was surreal, the type of stuff you'd expect from a Michelangelo Antonioni or Andrucha Waddington movie.. people were walking seemingly on water... then you realized as your adjusted to the blinding white light, that there was no or very very little water ... it was all salt We walked, somewhat disoriented, completely humbled by the site.. then we returned to the bus, carefully avoiding the salt and facial treatment vendors and moved on to the steppe into Cappadocia with the lake in our eyes.....

This large salty lake is right on the main road from Ankara to Aksaray/Cappadocia. When we were there in the Fall a solid pinkish salt crust had formed over the water of the lake and you could walk out several hundred yards on dry salt. A little digging confirmed that there was water below. Time for a few pics, a WC stop at one of the roadside businesses, and some quick shopping for salt products. You can see a few spots on the lake where salt is being harvested commercially. I wouldn't go specifically to see this lake, but it is worth a stop if you are driving past.

Hello,
I would like to know what are the options to go to Lake Tuz from Goreme.
I would like to leave Goreme early in the morning and then have a stop in the area of the lake and continue to Ankara.
I have heard that bus companies on the way to Ankara plan a stop somewhere near the lake. How long could this stop possibly last? Did anyone do this kind of bus ride Goreme-Ankara with a stop at the lake?
As this direct option might not leave me much time to see the lake or not give this option at all what are other possibilities?
To recap: what is the best way to get from Cappadocia/Goreme to Lake Tuz and go straight to Ankara?
Thank you for any tips!

I am looking for the same. @patifi, if this does not work, are you willing to club together and hire a private tour as for a single guy it’s very expensive. Rock valley travel is asking for 150 euro for today afternoon tour to watch the sunset
