Our host Joe was a wealth of information with loads of stories to entertain while we sampled his wonderful wines. We make it our go to spot whenever we're in the neighborhood the building is spectacular and we always go home with some goodies.

I visited the Berghold Vineyards & Winery ~ a place that must be seen to be believed. This is a must-do! Victorian Antique Collectors Joe & Kay Berghold's goal was to build an architecturally unique winery & tasting room. It was a truly breathtaking scene, still decorated for Christmas. Next to the elegant Tasting Room is an enormous Meeting /... More

I can't believed I missed this place in the past. Their zins are outstanding, a great merlot was being poured today. But honestly, the antique furniture is incredible too. Armoires. One had a whole automated music ensemble inside. Stained glass windows, a huge hearth from the 19th century. And the people were just lovely. Be sure to stop here if... More

We visited here twice in two days. The owner poured and chatted with us about his antiques collection displayed in the tasting rooms, they have two separate rooms, and on our second visit he led a group of us around the rooms showing us the antiques, describing how he acquired them, and how some had been converted to functional purposes.... Great wine, and with the holidays coming, this is the go to winery for all things gifts...especially during Christmas! Great location for weddings as the grounds are immaculate, and the large tasting room can accommodate large groups. The vineyards provide some of the best colors in Lodi during the fall. The only drawback is that the owners once told me... More

This was our second visit. The wood work in this room is remarkable. You should visit at Christmas when it is decorated. The 2013 Petit Syrah was outstanding. We joined the wine club. Bill, our server was very friendly.

Berghold has everything we wanted in wine tasting: (1) good wines, (2) small, local, family-owned winery with wines only available at the winery, (3) friendly, knowledgeable staff and (4) beautiful grounds. What was icing on the cake was all the refinished antique decorations. It almost felt like we went inside a mini museum, which makes the wine tasting experience more... More

This place is beautiful with walls lined with antique confessionals from churches from the Eastern U.S. The owner spent time with us and was delightful. I'm not a wine drinker, but my husband loves good wine, does lots of winery visits around the world and felt that the Crankcase Red and another red were some of the best he'd ever... More

This was our first stop on our wine tasting tour and possible the most beautiful. This place compares with some of the better tasting rooms in Napa Valley. Lots of expensive stuff around the tasting room. The wines were all good but none of them were better that wines that I had tasted in southern Oregon. The wine expert in... More
