This EBRPD is a hidden jewel of a park. Hiking is often up hill with fantastic views once above the park's valley section (which is a perfect picnic destination). Dog and horse friendly, perfect for getting away from it all if only for a day. Over night hiker camping, permits are needed (see visitor center), lots of space, few visitors... More

This wilderness area is a large 9737 acre parkland. In Livermore it starts around Del Valle area, goes to Sunol and then to Mission Peak area (Fremont, Ca area). Rose Peak is the tallest mountain in the area (3817 foot). The peak area is surrounded by grassy ridges. There are many animals in the area such as tule elk, deer,... More
