My husband and I recently stayed a week in Laguna Beach on a getaway. Unfamiliar with LB, we found the trolleys indispensable! We walked everywhere, but found when we needed a trolley one was there in under 10 mins. What an excellent service to the traveler! We hardly needed to drive our car at all once we arrived. Each trolley operator was kind, friendly, and drove us safely. 10/10 recommend!!

Found out taking the trolley back to our car that IT DOESN'T STOP AT EVERY STOP. You have to let the driver know either when you board or from your seat that you want to stop at a particular stop. (July '22).
After stopping at the first few stops, we assumed the trolley would stop at every stop. Wrong! When it got to the next stop (ours) it went sailing on by! Then it sailed by the next stop and the next! We finally managed to communicate to the driver that we needed to get off and then we had to stand in the sun for 20-30 minutes waiting for a trolley to take us back in the other direction! (The driver was not particularly apologetic). We were not happy.
Dear Laguna Trolley, please make it clear to passengers that you don't stop at every stop or simply stop at every stop. Thank you.
Other than that, the service was great.

With public parking being a hot commodity in Laguna Beach, the free city trolley is an invaluable resource for leisure visitors to get to & from all of the attractions you'll want to visit (beaches, parks, restaurants, shops). Be sure to dowload the Trolley Tracker app via the Laguna Beach City website to your smartphone before you visit, and allow your location to be tracked so you can locate the trolley stop nearest to you AND follow the progress of the nearest trolley so you don't miss it on the current loop. My wife & I parked curbside in metered parking near Heisler Park, and used the trolley to get to & back from Victoria Beach on the south end of Laguna Beach (where public parking is nearly impossible to find). For convenience & comfort & an opportunity to scope out additional stops along the South Coast Highway/CA-1, the Trolley is the way to go.

This was a great way to get around on a recent visit to Laguna Beach! Trolleys come every few minutes and you can take long or short routes, hop off where needed and jump back on when ready. Trolleys are free and clean with friendly drivers.

I had a driver an adorable driver Sherrie Neal. She was the best part of the ride, do helpful and kind with everyone. Funny, upbeat and helpful. I was a bit down that day and got off the trolley feeling like a new person. She made my day and everyone else's on the ride as well. That was the best thing for me about the trolley. Be sure and keep her around, and let her know.

The route map is available at all the trolley signs--just scan the QR code and get it on your smartphone. A plus: it shows in real-time the location of all the trolleys.

Two buses/trolleys run in opposite directions and the stops are all marked on the signage by the benches. Even if you miss one, sit and enjoy the day and be patient.
The bus routes really cover a lot of territory and do stop at Monarch Beach by the Ritz Carlton. That is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy the views. It isn't too long a walk to continue up PCH to Dana Point from that Ritz Carlton stop (which is the end of the route for this bus). The sidewalks make for safe walking.
We've been up way past Heisler Park, walking along the many cove beaches, and have seen the marked bus stops that far from the center of town. I believe we saw the last one listed as #36 but there could easily have been more.
Our visit to Laguna Beach this year occurred in January and the bus was running a regular schedule. We rode this bus several times and appreciated that there was a way to get to some of those stops before the Ritz Carlton as walking can be pretty dangerous when there is no sidewalk.

Love the concept, execution the worst. We were there 3 days and tried many times to use the service. Never a trolley in site. And then 3 would roll by within 5 minutes of each other. And then the trolley didn’t go places you would assume they would - such as Dana point. Makes no sense!

We found that the trolley did not run on a regular schedule. I would come between 60 minutes to 90 to 120 minutes. There was a charge during the week, and free on the weekends.
Hours for today?

Does the trolley run in May and does it run everyday? Does it run all the way to Dana Point if we wanted to do the whale watch? Thanks.

I am not sure of the hours and limits, but you can get that from the Laguna Beach Tourist info office. It is their trolley.

We had a few days holiday in September midweek and used the normal bus service, very cheap and buses run main route every 10 minutes or so and ran late evening.
