Our kids had a blast exploring the tide pools. They loved seeing the fish, small crabs, sea lions and birds. We would have stayed longer but needed a bathroom and the ones at the beach were closed for maintenance.

We spent 2 hours here at low tide. Our kids were so upset when we had to leave (because of our 2 hour parking spot). Parking was a nightmare, but totally worth it. Bring your water shoes. It's slippery. We spent the whole time getting...More

A great area for exploring the tide pools at low tide. You will see crabs, small fish, snails, the occasional star fish and sea anemones. Be careful it is very slippery. So, wear the appropriate foot wear.

We live locally and still enjoy going to the tidepools. It's so relaxing and it's a marvel all the sea life that can be seen in a tidepool. Kids LOVE this. Friends from out of town just can't believe how many places there are along...More

This was so much fun for all of us, but especially for our 2 year old! She liked it better than the aquarium or the zoo, since it was so hands on. Got to see crabs, anemones, lots of cool seashells, both live and dead.

You have low slopping rocks, and when there is low tide, then you can walk (and also slip) on the slippery rocks and explore the marine life in the little puddles of water. You can see small marine life such as crabs etc. Just be...More

This is a very unusual activity, especially enjoyed by children. The ocean offers different experiences depending upon the time and tides. .

Really pretty place to see tide pools. Didn't see many creatures that day but it was fun regardless. Wear non skid foot wear for a more enjoyable trip.

Lucky timing meant the water was receding from the weird and wonderful formations at this beach when we arrived. We saw fish, crabs, anemones, abalone, strange seaweed and more -- it was like a nature treasure hunt. BE CAREFUL: the rocks around the tide pools...More

Lots of walking and sand so be careful to wear good walking shoes and take a spare with you. Have fun!

Formally, there is to be no removal of anything from coastal parks or properties, so no shells, rocks, sea animals (starfish, anemones, etc.). With that being said, I think there are probably small caches of memory-shells... More

There is a steep flight of concrete steps from street level to the beach. If you get there at a very low tide indeed, there will be a large expanse of shallow water (not exactly your classic tide pools) with lots of... More
