The Cave Store offers a variety of merchandise including handmade jewelry, towels, snorkel gear, postcards, magnets, shells, and bottled drinks and ice cream. The most exciting part of the Cave Store, however, is the 145 step tunnel that leads to the Sunny Jim Sea Cave. Although there are rarely any sea lions or seals in the cave, the view is spectacular and it is a great adventure, particularly for kids.

This store has a lot of lovely things available for purchase, but I went for the cave access. It costs $5 to go down 145 onto a platform inside the cave. It's not very big, so it could get crowded easily. I would probably recommend...More

This place sells mainly touristy stuff, but you can pay $5 to go inside one of the caves. The steps are not strenuous but slippery. The cave was pretty dark and I could see the waves splashing on the rocks, but other than that, there...More

If you are looking for some memorabilia for your curio cabinet, this place will fill the bill. You can pay a small fee and go down to the cave inside the shop. We bought a couple of things and were pleased. Nicely done stuff here.

For only $5, you have to do this! The Cave Store is a cherished location in LaJolla with this wonderful, quirky "come on in" kind of a lure...you walk 145 stepsdown to a cove! Super cool experience. Please keep in mind...narrow walkway, steps can be...More

What a fun little hike down the stairs to the cove. It was just exciting enough without being strenuous or scary. My mom with a recent knee replacement even did it. It is kinda slippery so hold onto the handrails.

On a recent trip to La Jolla, my friend and I decided to explore The Cave Store and the area around it. We walked over to the Coast Trail and the bluffs surrounding the Cave Store. Lovely views of the water with kayakers and snorkelers...More

Been here many times always a favorite with my daughter. The 135 steps is always a hike but amazing to see the cove from down below. Looking at the old pictures it's amazing that the place has been there almost unchanged for over 100 years.

Cute jewelry and trinket shop. $5 entrance fee inside the shop to venture down to the bottom of a sea cave. Recommend wearing appropriate shoes as the path is a bit wet and slippery. Worth the walk back up to see the inside of a...More

Great spot to see caves from land. Our kids loved it and we got a workout! Parking is very limited in this area.
