Overview
More
The Cave Store offers a variety of merchandise including handmade jewelry, towels, snorkel gear, postcards, magnets, shells, and bottled drinks and ice cream. The most exciting part of the Cave Store, however, is the 145 step tunnel that leads to the Sunny Jim Sea Cave. Although there are rarely any sea lions or seals in the cave, the view is spectacular and it is a great adventure, particularly for kids. Summer months (May through September) we offer snorkel gear rentals. $20 for 2 hours for the mask, snorkel, and fins. $10 for 2 hours for just the mask and snorkel or just the fins. We will hold onto an ID as a deposit. Unfortunately, no wet suits or life jackets are available.

It was cool to take the 145 steps to sea level. The expereince was worth it cause I got a coupon from my kayak experience since the water levels were too high to kayak into one of the caves. Not sure I think this is...More

Something a little different and out of the ordinary for just a few bucks :) careful though...if you are out of shape the 145 stairs back up can be tough!

$5-$8 to walk down 150 or so steps...was it worth it--probably not, but we did it and were glad we did....but they should restrict the number of people that can go down at a time as it can get cramped....I chalk it up to one...More

Imagine descending into a cave and seeing the La Jolla cove at sea level through an opening that resembles a British cartoon character called Sunny Jim. The steps that descend into the cave are damp and may be slippery. Take your time and enjoy this...More

Super cool to see! The history of the cave is really interesting, I highly recommend adding this to your itinerary while in La Jolla! It's only $5.00 to go into the cave and has pretty low ceilings on the way down but its totally worth...More

I enjoyed my little trek into the rock. It wasn't too taxing, not fir everyone, but i made it with my bum knee- a taller person would have to watch their head. Not much to see at the bottom but it was worth the $5....More

The Cave store is both a cute store and the entrance to an ocean cave. The Cave requires a ticket - I received mine as part of a bike and kayak tour; others received tickets with purchases. Be careful walking down to the cave since...More

$5 is a far price for the attraction. The steps are steep with low head clearance. The visit was quick but glad we stopped. We went first thing on a Saturday morning, it was not incredibly busy which worked well for the limited quarters.

Long walk down lots of stairs to see very little!!! It was cool but won't do it again. Not good for anyone with walking problems.

Even with her cane, and low vision, we slowly made it down the stairs to the bottom. Shoes with good traction is a MUST, as the younger man passing us slipped on the way down...slippery. It's $5, but we had never been before so it...More
