Some of the best scenery at a La Jolla beach. The beach is down below the road, so be prepared to go down stairs to get to the sand. Great waves for boogie boarding and rocks for searching for little creatures. Some people fishing and...More

When you wind your way through the neighborhood, find street parking, and make your way down the bluffs to the scenic beach painted by local artists for its dangerous rocky coastline, you will find hidden below the surface of the water treacherous rocks navigated by...More

Windansea Beach (yes, that is show it is spelled), can be a good place to check out the tidal pools. These are places where at low tide, the water gets trapped in shallow depressions in the rocks. They sometimes hold sea life such as small...More

A beach gem that has changed little in the 60 years I have been visiting it. Tom Wolfe fans will easily recognize the pump house. Unlike the Cove the water is not contaminated. The surfers are arrogant and territorial, but they always have been. A...More

We didn't want to go to the other beaches because they were too crowded so we came here. The strong waves are not very kid friendly but it was clean and there are a lot of places to explore. Lots of surfers to watch. Portapotties...More

Windansea is a beautiful whether you are looking for an easy coastal walk, sitting along a portrait-perfect beach, surfing some more-challenging sets, or just stopping by for a stunning sunset. Remember, the beaches are alcohol free so don't bring any beer/wine... but you don't need...More

Windansea an extremely popular location for surfers; on any given day, sunshine or cloudy, you will see the dedicated surfers (and some of San Diego's best) do their thing. If you're not into surfing, but into surfer watching, the beach is quite beautiful. Your kids...More

At first, I wasn't too impressed. Then we spent a day here and I began to appreciate its beauty. Rocky, but the sandy areas were nice. A surfers beach.

It'll be fantastic. We were there over New Year's, & while we didn't have an interest in braving really cold water, there were plenty of surfers and swimmers wearing wetsuits in the surf. June is perfect for most.
