Front 9 has views of the ocean on every hole. Back 9 ocean not in view. Rough was very thick since we played it after the Farmers Open. Since it's a public course, don't expect the conditioning of a private club. It's well worth playing, however

We were in the gallery when Tiger won his last major limping around Torrey on a broken leg. Unbelievable! If you missed that or have only seen Torrey Pines on TV, you owe it to yourself to see the beauty of the north course and feel the undulating terrain beneath your feet. The Farmers Ins Open grants you that opportunity... More

We have been to Pebble, Whistlings Straits, Pinehurst, Bandon and plenty of other signature golf destinations. We are private club members, and picky about pace and conditions. This is our greatest disappointment, a round of 5.5 hours on greens that just two weeks after the tour came through were incredibly bumpy, rendering putting from a skill to a random outcome.... I had the wonderful opportunity to play Torrey Pines last week. Almost no wind, beautiful skies, about 70 degrees. The course was the site of the PGA Tour event a week earlier. I could not believe how lush and carpet like the fairways are. But they are narrow and the rough is crazy high and thick. Forget distance and keep... More

Considering TP is a world famous course I was shocked by the incompetence of the staff. I called well before the Farmers Open, to see if I could secure a tee time for my husband and I who were heading to California to celebrate a special anniversary and birthday. The gentleman I spoke with told me since we were arriving... More

We were curious to see what the North course had to offer after the Weiskopf remodel. The course for sure plays longer, and the new bunkering and greens were fair and entertaining. It seems that some of the alternative planting areas were in need of some love, but It is better than ever and rivals the South Course. It is... More

The course is in excellent conditions. Very nice views and very friendly staff. It is a bit expensive if you are not a local (280 usd plus 40 if you want a cart)... It is a difficult course course and the roughs will kill you, so try to avoid them..

We booked our tee time through the golf pro shop at The Fairmont Grand Del Mar a couple weeks in advance. When my son (10) and I arrived, they only had a round for 1 of us scheduled, but they quickly re-arranged our time and had a slot for the 2 of us 30 minutes later. Very accommodating. We took... What a screwed up bunch. Trying to book a tee time at Torrey. Hilton Diamond Member here and hotel guest during the time I want to book. Getting the runaround from everyone. Anna-- golf person-- has a voicemail that she doesn't return calls from, leaves an email address for herself that she doesn't return. Molly answers the phone at the... More

We visited Torrey Pines from NJ and were super excited to be able to play both courses in one day. We took a cart since we'd be exhausted from walking both in one day, and it was absolutely gorgeous. We had a bit of fog in the morning, so we were bummed to miss out on some of the beautiful... More
